I could be reading some of these messages wrong, but from what I can see so far....
What is this mindset that our job is done on election day? As if Obama will single-handedly make everything work. Yes, he is an accomplished, inspiring, and perhaps brilliant man. But we need to factor in "WE" into any future success for the country.
Democracy is participatory 365 days a year!
Should Obama be elected.. and I hope he is... our DAILY job is to make our voices heard on the issues, hold Obama's feet to the fire about keeping a progressive agenda, and be ever mindful that he is there to represent us, not that we are here to follow him.
Fully expect him to shift, adjust and re-direct his plans and promises.
But DO NOT prepare yourself to sit back and whine away with the "they all do that" mentality.
That way of thinking simply abdicates any power you have and renders you useless and MORE dangerous than the "stupidity of Americans" or "evil of Republicans."
