Yes I realize he was sworn in January 20, 2009, but if he's so good and creating so many new jobs, why isn't the unemployment rate as low as it was with the previous, Republican president? If Bush was as bad as you make him out to be, why was unemployment so low when he was in office?

Unemployment rose from 4.2% when Bush took office (January, 2001) to 7.8% when he left office (January 2009).

You just have zero facts. You don't know WTF you are talking about.The other stuff was where were you when Bush was lying about the War? What was Bush doing when he was destroying the economy? Yeah, unemployment was better under Bush but don't you think that the economy slowly collapsing had anything to do with it?

What about Obama's accomplishments? Do you even acknowledge that he has any? Did you check last months unemployment numbers?

You talk about Obamacare and your parent's high health rates. Fine. Then why don't you go out and get your own insurance so they can take you off theirs?

My question is this. Why did you not correct Tiny? She said you were in High school and you did not dispute it.Why is that? Kind of odd. You are in college and someone claims you sure in high school. I never said I was or wasn't in high school. Do you not understand sarcasm? I was trying to point out that it's kind of immature and high school-like, actually more middle school-like, to attack someone and call them condescending names because of differing views. So you can choose to believe me or not, I really don't care, but I'm not in high school or college anymore. I just finished college and have a four year degree. But I don't need to prove anything to you.

Because of Obama, my parents health care rates have gone through the roof because we're not part of "Obamacare" and don't live on the government like so many people do today because it's easier than making a living and paying for their own food and health care.

How, specifically, was Obama responsible? I don't live on the government and it didn't happen to me. Or my parents. Or to anyone I know. The only time my health care went through the roof was when I was unemployed on COBRA, but that was crazy expensive LOOOOOONG before Obama. It was the wonderful "choice" that employed Republicans were so proudly hailing. As in, rich Americans can choose good health care and poor Americans can choose crappy health care or none at all and hopefully, they will die out.

I've asked you about some of the things in my posts like Obama's accomplishments,You giving the Republicans a free pass for what they did prior to January 2009, and so on and you have dodged those questions since they've been asked. My guess is,you don't know. You are ignorant of the facts yet you spout out all this BS without backing anything up. DO you know how many people have died because of Bush's war? We invaded Iraq for no reason. Do you know how much the war in Iraq is costing us? Are you aware Obama was against the war in Iraq? Are you aware Obama has ended the war in Iraq? He has cut military spending,something your guy wants to increase. Explain why Obama is the bad guy here.

You still didn't answer my question about whether or not you actually applied for any civil service tests or gone to career fairs. Have you taken temp work? What are you skill sets and potential job field exactly? Most people do not exactly get into the entry-level jobs of their exact field they studied in college. I know Psych majors working in insurance. It's not ideal, but it is a job. You know, getting yourself up by your boot-straps and not complaining about it like a victim.

For all the fire-breathing about how it is the government's fault, it does not sound like you value personal responsibility. Yes the job market sucks but Romney-Ryan is not going to magically make your job field open like the black sea just for you- unless you join the military as we enter another military adventure.

strummergirl, I have gone to career fairs, but I went to those fairs in New York where I went to college, but that doesn't help much since now I have had to move home on the West Coast. And yes, I do work for a temp agency currently, but that's not getting me any skills in my field, and I live in a fairly small city where the unemployment rate is close to 11% since Obama has been in office. But In the next year I'm going to move to a bigger city with a lower unemployment rate where I will able to get a real job, I'm not saying I'm a victim, I just think that if obama is reelected the unemployment rate isn't going to change and continue to stay high.

And romantico, calling me an idiot isn't name calling? I don't care that you attempted to point out what was wrong with my posts, that's not what I was talking about. But do you think we shouldn't have gone to war after 9/11? Did you just want to sit back and do absolutely nothing and let them get away with it? I bet any president, whether Democrat or Republican would have gone to war after the attack, if we don't fight back they're just going to do it again.

And Obama didn't kill Bin Laden, the Navy Seals did. Any president in office would have made the order to have him killed, do you really believe it was all because of Obama that he's dead?

And if you read the chart, the unemployment rate is higher now than any of the years Bush was in office, is that Bush's fault too?

abby, here you are demonstrating remarkably linear thinking. the housing bubble which caused the financial crisis occurred in 2007. that is why you see the logarithmic increase in unemployment during 2008, and which peaked circa 2009. anyone who thinks that someone could have instantly returned employment to pre-bubble rates is demonstrating a shocking lack of understanding of the realities of life. the amount of damage from the bubble is in the billions, if not trillions, and any reasonably thinking person has to realize that it will take years, if not decades, for it to be set right. the important thing is that the trend is in the right direction since obama took office.

Obama rejected the Keystone XL pipeline because it was not "green", but it would have lowered gas prices in the US, but since the environmentalist groups give a lot of money to his campaign, he needs to keep them happy.

this topic has been reviewed extensively. the president does not determine gas prices. that is ultimately determined by speculators on wallstreet and their complex interaction with the market. even were it true... you and your parents have to realize that you have no more right to this planet than anyone who comes after. it doesn't belong to you or anyone of us in that way. i am 100% certain that there is nothing beyond the sun, moon, and stars that will "reset" the planet if we happen to make it uninhabitable. i am quite certain that the only thing that will happen is that the human race will simply cease to be, and something will replace us in a few millenia. it is our responsibility to look after the planet as best we can so that future generations can continue this experiment.

the average romney-supporter who complains about how poor america is has no idea what real poverty is. in certain parts of the world, children walk four miles to get a pail of water that will give them diarrhea and kill their siblings. if you have a roof over your head, and a computer to bitch at, you are richer than 99% of humans who have ever lived. show a little gratitude.

At least I have an education, from the way most of you speak I'm surprised you were even able to graduate high school.

I made that account over four years ago and I wanted to change it now, is that such a big deal? I'm sorry that my life doesn't revolve around what my status is on this website. I could care less if I'm a "broadway legend" or "swing", it really doesn't matter at all, but you guys make a federal case out of it and assume I'm a troll because I want a new name.

So you say 9/11 happened on Bush's watch, true, but was it his fault? No. And intelligence mislead Bush and his people saying there were WMD, he didn't just send troops over there blindly. Geez - I just came on here and read through this thread, hoping for a real debate.

I just can't for the life of me understand how anyone not in the top 1% of this country could POSSIBLY vote for Romney. It seems so clear we're going to go right back to where we were four years ago with the country in a ****hole and getting worse with each passing month if Romney wins.

I hoped Abby would have some reason to justify a vote for him. Alas, like every other Republican supporter I've had debates with, she has no good explanation or rationale at all - just lies and talking points that have as much to do with reality as Romney has to do with Buddhism.
