"The fact that he's right or wrong is beside the point"
And in that one sentence, it shows what is wrong with this country right now.

"what he said and what people will hear are not the same thing."
Communication is only effective when people understand. And it seems that too many people are misunderstanding him. If the media wasn't so in love with him and covering for him, he would have been gone long ago.
wish in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which one fills up faster. why don't we wish away all the problems in the world, stick our heads in the sand and hope it all turns out ok? grow the hell up.
you are reducing the state of the nation to one sentence?
Isn't that a little simple?
taz, it's not complicated. like mishy bamster said, this is a sick, rotten and cruel place, these united states. only bammy can save this rotten and corrupt country.
I am not reducing anthing. I am just stating that fact that people complain about all the crap with Bush when you can make the argument that whether or not it is right, it is necessary (at least at the beginning of everything). Um . . . when did not being right turn into a good thing? Truth, to me, is the thing that is sorely lacking in this government. Everywhere you look it is people lying, lying, lying or sugar coating the truth to make people feel a little safer or whatnot.
I am not trying to start any argument or anything . . . I am just stating my opinion like everyone else in this thread.
Spider--here's a condescending sentence for you:
GROW UP!
Now, it happens to be the truth: You desperately need to stop sniping and whining and sniveling and bitching.
But it would be IMPOLITIC of me to say that.
So I won't.
I have learned that if I tell the truth and tell teenagers on BroadwayWorld to "GROW UP!," no one will vote for me for President of BroadwayWorld, should there ever be such an election.
So I absolutely positively will NEVER SAY THAT TO YOU. EVEN ABOVE, IN THIS POST.
Obama should learn that too--and quick!--like before next week's Pennsylvania Primary.
No one's arguing DJ. You know we're pals.
You want to see arguing, go look at some of the jerby and cubandpab threads.
Despite this (and because people are smart enough to see through the politics) he got a new super delegate today, was endorsed by two PA newspapers, Twenty-one elected officials and community leaders from small towns and rural areas throughout Pennsylvania today released an open letter asking fellow Pennsylvanians to set aside Senators Clinton and McCain’s recent attempts at political point-scoring and consider who will fight for them as President and yesterdays gallup poll showed a two point increase in his national lead over Hillary.
Obama supporters aren't afraid of the dirty politics any more than they are on Hillary's side. Women, a big part of her base, are turning away from her like mad because of the tone of the campaign.
Taz, you know you my boy *secret handshake*
Joey - I am not going to even give you the satisfaction of responding to your post.
I've said what I thought and I am going to leave it that. I will do the GROWN UP thing and leave it be.
PalJoey-
I want a president who has a sociologist's mind, not simply the one who can win an American Idol of an election season at any cost. Do you disagree that it will take a president with a sociology background to help this country get through it's deep rooted racial and class divisions?
I wish Obama had chosen better words or not said what he did at all because not all people have discernment. I understand that alienating the white blue collar male is not in the best interest of the Obama campaign, but that was an uphill battle with a demographic there is no way to prove if he could have won over anyway. However, I believe that the Obama's basic message will get across eventually because main stream media is giving Obama every chance to keep clarifying those comments - though what the damage will be remains to be seen.
Ya know, I used to be a Hillary supporter. All that "familiarity" and the fact that I had a fondness for Bill and the 90's. I even wrote the White House once and still have a signed letter from Bill. Let's not forget that I am woman and I would have liked to heard us roar. But Barack has challenged her like you would family; she has taken him on like the anti-christ and I just got turned off. Obama will never sign on to be part of established Washington ala Clinton.
On a side note, it might be nice if Hillary supporters got behind the idea of the first black First lady. That is also progress.
paljoey, i demand that you stop stealing my lines! the only democrat authorized to steal from me is joe biden, and you damn well know that!
art, i'd love to see a source for that women turning away like mad idea. do you have one? is it better that your gallup comment which is an outright lie since bammy actually lost 2 points to her in the latest gallup daily tracking poll.
april 11th - bammy 51 and hil 42
april 12th - bammy 49 and hil 42
can some bammy supporter please explain to me, since i might just not "get it" - how can a loss of two percentage points be an increase?
gallup

He's a hero for telling the truth, even if people don't want to hear it, and if he loses because of this, at least he can stand tall knowing that he wasn't afraid to tackle the tough issues.
An honest man, unlike Senator Clinton, Pres. Bush, Condolcezza (her original name) Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, John McCain ...well, I could go on for hours, couldn't I.
i wish obama had chosen better words or not said what he did at all because not all people have discernment.
wow. just. wow. how does the world look from that perch?
So you're all done name calling? Just checking.
Anyone has the ability to have and use discernment, some people just choose not to.
i'm never done namecalling when there's morons about. moron.
easy to see why you're not in politics.
That's fine, but I wouldn't suggest it for you either since name calling and generalizations seem to be your specialty.
**EDIT** I take that back, you would be perfect for politics!

and condescension is yours. but look at the bright side, after bammy's been whupped by johnny mac, you'll have 4 years to complain about those dumb voters.

It makes you wonder what his goal is. to just browbeat people or actually put a message across? To make connections with people or just sever them?
A uniter or a divider? I think it's clear which one PLM is.
To point out others shortcomings or to hide his own? Hrm....
bk, fenfen, mejusthatejewsgaysandmyselfmostofall, magwildwood, mmousefan, or whatever you decide to call yourself today, pudgster, no one really cares what you think. the hatred you try so desperately to keep beneath the surface will always find a way to bubble through no matter how many screen names you come up with. you should walk way from the board and get into therapy and maybe you won't end up alone trying to figure out how to get the thirteenth turn on the bedsheet.
You're a day behind on your gallup, papa. Recheck your own link.

no, i was responding to your comment about "yesterday's" poll. yes, he picked up points in today's poll, but that's not what you cited.
seriously? a poll from lifetime? will we be checking bammy's numbers with a poll from the wb?
**and condescension is yours**
It defies logic how stuck you are on repeatedly accusing others of this when, based on your posting history, you engage in it so frequently.
That's alright though, your double standard is very transparent.
i'm not condescending, i'm mean. there is a difference. and you're still a moron.
