When are told what the cutoff date is for signing up and than Obama just keeps changing it at will.
I signed up in December and haven't changed a thing. You can't absolve Blue Shield on my account.
And the delays in cutoffs are intended, in part, to allow insurance companies to get their acts together. In my experience, they needed the extra time.

Single payer means a much heftier price tag for people. As far as blaming congress, blame the democratic party as they are the ones who passed the law with out GOP input or help.
If not a lie, why are people so mad? Why have normally liberal media repeatedly called him out on it. A lie is a lie no matter how you dress it up. Imagine if a Republican president had said this. I guarantee it would be called a lie.
The insurance companies could no longer offer the coverage people had in the past. They knew they would have to drop doctors as this is the only way this could have a shot at this thing working.
Doctors are being dropped because they have to be affliated with numerous hospitals. If they only have one or two, they are gone. My urologist only comes in to a health care facility once a week. He is jumping thru hoops to comply with the law and is totally disgusted.
Doctors you can see in the future will be like this . Doctors who are affliated with 1 hospital are doomed.
They had a few years to get ready for this. How much longer did they need?

Even a line like "She was happy before" works in Eeyore's voice. Because we NEVER heard she was happy before.

Roxy, is English not your first language?
A lie is a knowing falsehood. When making a prediction about the future, it is always possible that one's statement may turn out to be untrue; that doesn't make it a lie at the time.
If I say Hillary Clinton will be elected President in 2016 and she is not, I'm not lying, I'm just mistaken.
The plan passed by Congress WAS the GOP plan, make no mistake about it. The Dems stupidly adopted it, hoping to gain GOP support, only to find the GOP had no intention of supporting any reform.
But that's the history and how we got here.
What we need are clear Democratic majorities in 2014 that will allow Congress to fix the problems with the healthcare law.

That will do it. Democratic majorities will just allow what is called a dictatorship. The thought of how much damage can be done is mind boggling. If the democrats "fix" this god help us all.
The sarcasm re English was not necessary. Rather than beat a dead horse here, we will agree to disagree.
Do not see your hope happening. The House will stay GOP and the Senate may turn.

Roxy, "lie" is a simple, English word. It's only natural to assume that someone who doesn't understand its meaning may not be a native speaker.
And that has nothing to do with Barack Obama.

Roxxy is a dumb, old bag.
But, Gaveston... Even Obama himself admitted he was "wrong" for his statement about keeping your healthcare plan. That's not a lie by any means, but it's also not exoneration. Not sure why you're trying to defend or excuse it. Obama clearly took responsibility for the inaccurate statement.

Something tells me you didn't read all of gaveston's posts, since he covered how he reached his conclusions. Not surprising, you're as wedded to your libertarian failure of Obamacare narrative as Roxy is to Fox's.

Obamacare is far from perfect. It was made less so by Obama negotiating with the GOP. Roxy, do you not remember the massive fluster cluck when Nixon helped issue in HMOs? Let us talk about people losing doctors who the insurance companies did feel the needed to recognize.
I have health insurance and, in a few years will be eligible for Medicare. I know for a FACT, my 79 year old mother has been saving a lot of money under the new health care milieu. Specially in drug costs.

As I typed earlier, my partner and I are benefitting greatly from The Affordable Care Act. I am also a New Yorker.
As for lying... Mr. Roxy, do you really want to go there? I am so over Republican talking points. Of course, anyone who's coverage didn't include what was being mandated would change.
I for one - and I'm a gay man - am pleased that preexisting conditions, woman's reproductive issues, etc. are being mandated. I too would have preferred universal healthcare, but it seems that is far too progressive for our country, or at least the politician's feared so.
As I have written in the past, I have lived outside of The United States, in Germany, where universal coverage was in effect. I can tell you that most of the myths we heard during the healthcare debate were unfounded. Some - by Republicans - down right lies. Yes, it was more expensive, but the care was exemplary. None of the waiting that everyone was warned against. As for the quality of care, it is true that the very wealthy in this country have perhaps the best care in the world, but for the 99%, what was being offered to the people of Germany was far better than anything I had ever received here in The United States when covered by traditional insurance.
Want to really talk about lies?
It saddens me that your wife has struggled and I wish that her situation gets resolved, but for many of us (millions), The Affordable Care Act, is a real opportunity for proactive healthcare.

I was going to make a joke about how Mrs. Roxy doesn't even need Obamacare since it doesn't cover veterinarian bills, but I'm not going to make it.

I personally find it absolutely hysterical that some people actually believe that since the national transition into a completely new Healthcare system has been bumpy, we should just abandon it and resort back to our previous system (which was flawed, unfair, and more about the money than actually taking care of the USA's citizens.)
When you look at other countries with systems similar to what we are trying to transition to, they are doing just fine. Some are amazing in fact (Norway I believe is a thriving country.)
What this law is basically doing is ensuring that people who couldn't afford healthcare in the previous system, will now be covered. Yes, there have been a lot of bumps. But I don't see how that means we should just stick to our crappy old system.
Plus, why are people blaming Obama and the Dem's when a lot of the anger should be directed at the huge insurance companies instead?

I only read a few posts before I got bored, but I wanted to ask this of Mr and Mrs Roxy.
How do you know that your longtime primary care doctors didn't opt out of the ACA? IF your doctors chose to opt out, then that's not on Obama. That's on the doctors for not signing up.

There was a ton of opposition and problems implementing social security when it first passed. I guess it's a good thing for Mr. and Mrs. Roxy that people didn't give up on that as fast as he wants to give up on the ACA.
