The link didn't work, movie. What is the thread about?
EDIT: N/M, I saw the thread. Yeah - it's a bit irritating. Just because she doesn't come out of the stage door doesn't mean she's a bad person.

i'm assuming the thread is about joanna? i'm sorry but that's wrong. i agree. so what if she doesn't come out the stage door. personally interviews i've read and seeing her at broadway barks this weekend... she seems nice, but on the quiet side. but whatever... people will think what they want to think and i will remain a fan of her even if she doesn't use the stage door.
And on a completely Greg related note, boy was he fantastic last night in DRS and what a charming man at the door. I usually get all shy and nervous around stage folks, but I was at ease with him.
I still don't get the pencil line...

Sherbet / Sherbert ... yeah, I add that second "r" all the time myself. Here's another page about it and look, there's a giant pencil! lol https://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/sherbert.html
Another common one ... the correct phrase is "Daylight Saving Time" not "Daylight Savings Time." Most people, and Lord knows I'm one, add the "s" to the middle word.
The Joanna thread on the main board ... Well, you know what, I'm sure has her reasons. The way I look at the whole stage door experience thing, as I've stated before, it's nice when they do it, but shouldn't be expected. It struck me just a little while ago, thinking about this that some things in life are graces. Grace means you get something beneficial to you, maybe something that just makes you feel good, that you didn't do a thing to deserve. When I see a show, what I deserve for the ticket price is the best show that company can present, along with a comfortable, pleasant experience in that venue while watching that show. What I don't deserve is a chance to meet the performers after the show and get photos taken and autographs signed. IF they do that, then, hey, it's an act of grace on the part of those who do it, and the correct response to grace is to be grateful ... it isn't to go bitch and moan that some performer didn't do the stage door, especially when they've just given the best performance they're capable of on stage. Going back to Joanna, I'm confident that she gives her audiences her best every show, so if she doesn't do the stage door thing (or does rarely), give her a break.
I believe Greg genuinely enjoys doing the stage door, but that's his choice, and it's just his personality to be outgoing and friendly. Like some have said, not all performers are outgoing ... actors can be very shy when they're meeting people and being themselves. I've read that Fred MacMurray (sp?), who played the dad on My Three Sons, was extremely shy away from the camera and hated doing talk shows where he had to sit there and be himself.
(Then there are those actors, etc. who "play a character" even when they're supposed to be themselves. I know of one male soap actor, Tom Eplin -- what happened to him after Another World, anyone know? -- who said he appeared at fan events as his character because he felt that "it's 'Jake' they're really expecting to see, and I don't want to disappoint them.")
Maybe I should say this stuff in that thread, but I guess I feel safer singing to the choir here! Elphaba, you're right ... people are going to think what they want to think, and there will always be people who want to think the worst of someone. I think Joanna's great.
Barb xo
Woo more Greg fans joining and posting in the thread more often! Yeah the Joanna thread upset me a bit. She seems like such a sweet lady and it's sad when people automatically assume that just because she didn't come out to sign that she isn't nice.
I don't know their zealous diatribes were pretty convincing...Maybe she's the one who killed my hermit crab!!
And guys totally don't tell anyone like I told you this, but I heard from a VERY reliable source, a highup in "the buisness" that she EATS babies!!!!!!!!
Barb, you've hit it on the spot.
first off, sorry if i'm turning the thread into another direction at the moment, but, hey, i guess it's better than using posts talking about what movie you just saw, right? (not that that's a bad thing. :)
Well, I agree with you 100%, Barb. Actors coming out IS an act of grace; it's a priveledge, not a priority. And, yeah, I can understand why some actors would go to fan events as their character. I guess it's hard sometimes to be seen for who they really are instead of being fixed into someone else. But, that's why I'm glad, from what I've heard, (since I've never met Greg) that Greg's able to reach out to his fans the way he does. I don't know ANY other actor who gives up his time to appreciate us the way he does, which is the biggest reason why I respect him so much.(I mean, I hadn't felt as happy as I did yesterday watching the cam, in two weeks!) And watching the show for the first time, made me feel so...entertained! That was enough for me! lol :)

Cat ...
::phhffftttt::
:)
Jamie, what a nice thing to say! I'm sure Greg would be pleased to know that his cam helped make your day better. Thanks for saying that.

Jbarafan1 You said "::phhffftttt::"...We're totally rubbing off on you...
Jaime's quite right, the cam has been thoroughly entertaining, and its been working so damn well lately *knock, knock*
...and seriously if you guys have seen Joanna Gleason lurking around my house as of late please, let me know because the murderer of my hermit crab is still at large!! No crustacean is safe!!
P.S Dre Don't worry you'll learn to ignore my posts like everyone else soon
Oh so Catherine, you're Cat now, huh? When did this revalation come about? Am I out of the loop? lol.
Um smarty pants...cat is the last part of my username, so even if they don't know my name is catherine they call me that...Annnnd it is the first three letters of my name, which is in total 9 letters...and some people don't think I'm worth 9 letters apparently (like my dazzling logic )
Well...that works too, but my logic is better! And where are these smilies coming from?..
I am pleased that I am the first poster on this thread...I love that Greg!
lol..I think you're second...because I made the first post. lol. But you were the first to reply! So you're cool in my book!

Yeah...Well...Um...I was like the...um...30th?
...but I have a dancing banana Gif so...Pffffftt!
That's the banana that dances to the peanut butter jelly song video!! woo!!!
That's what I meant. You were the starting post, the ground post if you will. Like the way floors are numbered in Europe...
bad analogy?
Oh dear well i'm not that crazy lol...Liz is just a bad influence
Greetings to you all once more. Man oh man is Connecticut boring.
Okay. I'll confess. The naked mole rats are freaking me out a bit.
Oh shoot...now everyone has figured out how we got backstage AND where he gets money to buy all his shorts.
Jimmy...yes he's a decent player. See there's two problems with me, one I'm a huge Yankee fan so it's hard for me to call non-MLB players good...second...errr, the team hasn't been doing that well, but you can certainly tell good players. Greg is a really good hitter, decent fielder, makes some errors though, then again those occur a lot. I remember one game Jimmy made about 3 incredible catches in left field, and was gonna be voted MVP if they won. Course they didn't...

wrq, I knew you'd be able to tell us about Jimmy's ballplaying abilities! Updated On: 8/1/05 at 01:15 AM
I just saw Greg again yesterday! (woohoo last minute half priced not bad seats to DRS!!!) It definately topped off a great day in New York. There's something about him, on and off stage, that just draws you to him. While he's onstage I just wanted to either
a. Be Joanna or
b. run up from my seat and give him a hug
And afterwards he's just so nice and gracious you want to go out for coffee or something.
So really there's only three obstacles keeping me from Greg. His wife, his kids, and that 30 some odd year age difference.
*echem*
Happy August Everyone!!!
...8 more days and this thread will be 3 months old...I fear that it is on steroids and growth hormones however, maybe on its birthday we can have an ntervention...
LOL, I can kinda see where you're coming from, Logainne, haha. Although, I don't view Greg as one of my "heartthrob teen idols". (like, say, you know...Orlando Bloom! haha) How old are you? (I myself am 16!)
Yes yes, yaay for August indeed!
(If confused, skim through other threads on the OT board, you'll see why
