don't think i can make either. getting my eyes checked in NYC and then having a bbq with family from france. But, I'll try and make some of it.

My dear greg thread oh how I missed you...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

wednesday he seemed very...distracted. like woah. compared to old ones, he seemed stressed.

Helloo all, back late from 6 of 7 WSS performances and then went out to diner with most of the pit after. But slightly amusing story...there was a brief power failure during the overture. We're in the middle of somewhere, and then our little lights go out. Me being the pit geek I am has almost the entire score memorize so I continue to play but then get yelled at. So we're just kinda sitting there in darkness, the audience is laughing, the director saying this is a first. Finally the lights came back on, we applauded, but then redid the entire overture. And they quickly blinked during Balcony Scene, fortunately our lights came on right away but Tony and Maria were singing in complete darkness for a couple of seconds. Amusing night.
And the age thing...I was all ready to put 18, what's new etc...and then I was like OMG...I'm 19! And I can say that and i was asked that and..yaay!
I've gotten a couple of things out of Norbie. The first time I saw the show and stage doored, actually I was still pretty shy, so I had to rehearse this lol, but I told him I now agree with lots of people who think he is a shoo-in for the tony and he said something like aww thank you soo much sweetie and I remember being really excited he called me sweetie...then at the giveaway again knew I'd hafta rehearse stuff, decided to say something similar b/c he wouldn't remember me...this time I told him it would be a tragedy if he didn't win the tony and I think this time he said thank you that is so sweet of you or something...
Threadjacking my own post, but also of interest from this day is my first encounter/convo w/ Greg..he was on the end being his personable self, I saw him talking w/ lotsa ppl but couldn't think of anything to rehearse to say to him...so he just says hi, how are you...and very shy nonrehearsed me at the time couldn't think of anything better to say but...good, how are you? I was soo mad at myself that day...guess I made up for it by now lol.
And then I think one more time I asked if he got the poster and I'm sure he thanked me but all I remember is him assuring me that he didn't mind that it said congratulation without the s. Hehe.
Between show, pit party in the afternoon, and family dinner, I'll highly doubt I'll be here at all tomorrow, but be sure to let me know of updates in the new Gregcam mystery series "Murder By Pencil."

I adore Evita. I can't hide it. I have always loved it. When I was like 10 I used to watch the movie with my best friend every weekend and cry hysterically. lol

I love WSS too, I personally think it's the best show ever. And I think there's a revival in the works for 2007, which is its 50th anniv.
I Feel Pretty...Maria is always sharp, ruins the song..
Actually most of the cast isn't great, Tony is awful, no stage presence, and we had to transpose "Maria" b/c he couldn't reach the high notes, the cast is bad at following the conductor so yeah...Bernando and Anita are great actors and Riff And Action are really great but meh. But god, I love playing Cool and Rumble-possibly two of the hardest pieces ever written for a show.

Yes but here's the task...there has to be a reason you're posting all this, can't just be something where you're posting for the sake of having a longer one for me. Like that post, I told a story, and then just responded to a bunch of things on thread, long bits of encounters w/ Norbie, cam, etc.

ahahaha so i bought the shirt that says "filthy shameless lyin cheatin dirty rotten guy" and i used fabric paint and crossed out the GUY and wrote GIRL with a heart :) lol i just thought i'd share..cuz i was proud of myself!!

Ali, I play clarinet, and no it's not community theatre...it's a summer theatre program that's almost entirely for HS students, but I'm interning as assistant musical director and play with the pit. The rest of the stuff I did was just HS unfortunately. I don't know if i'm ready to pursue anything professionally, but in the near future I plan to look into comm. theatre a bit.
