Elle, from the sounds of your post on the main board...John was back in last night?

Hey all! I got back from my first day of school about an hour ago. It was okay bit I liked vacation better.
Yes, Alejandra, he was! My friend called me during "Cry for Me" (so I could hear Dominic - I love his voice), and then "Fallen Angel" through the end of the show. JLY sounded absolutely perfect - I can't believe it was only his first show back.
My friend was going to put me on the phone with him, but I chickened out :).
But yeah, he's back!

elphie, I love your avatar.
I went through JLY's blog last night. Almost all of it, I think. And I watched the Person of the Week video on him, too.

I think it's so cool that your friend called you so you could hear him sing. I'd give anything to hear him sing Fallen Angel live. It's grown to be my favorite song, right before Who Loves You.

Thanks, Elle! How exciting to be able to listen to part of the show live, especially Fallen Angel and Who Loves You. And yay! I am so happy to hear that John sounded absolutely perfect.

Aw that would have been cool. I love the idea of talking to John on the phone, but if it ever happened, I'd probably get so nervous as to drop the phone or something. I was even nervous writing him a letter, haha.

I love his blog. It's so fun to track the steps that led to where he is, knowing what we know now. And since it took me awhile to catch Jersey Boys love, it's a convenient way to catch up on stuff that I missed. :)
How cool is it that he was a Person of the Week?

Curious about something....am I the only sad person who checks the number counter on John's site to see how many visitors he gets???? Please someone else say yes!!!
Wait, he has one of those things? LOL, I didn't even know...
Movin out didnt last too long unfortunately - even though James Fox is pretty big over here (he was in a music talent show in the UK) - and apparantly RENT has bombed. I have been defending JB on the west end board as some people don't feel it will be a success and it will be swallowed up by the huge publicity of Dirty Dancing - but I still have faith. Hell, I'm gonna be there every night I possibly can anyway!! I know as soon as word travels it will be massive and a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for the info, Wendy! It is too bad about Movin' Out. I saw the show on tour and loved it. On Broadway, I think James Fox subbed as the piano man for a little while...or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
But as a rock ballet of sorts, it is a show that can be harder to appreciate, so it's not surprising it didn't do well. I think RENT's appeal would be harder to translate across audiences than JB. I hope as soon as people start seeing the show, the skepticism will die out and there'll be positive word of mouth for JB. It's such a great story that's perfectly put together. It could well be my favorite show ever.

LOL, don't feel bad. But I didn't even know he had a number counter. Is it on his home page?

Odd, I just had a longer reply to Wendy but I must have pressed the wrong button and lost it.
Oh well.
I hate the term "jukebox musical" too and I don't like when Broadway fans unfamiliar with Jersey Boys think that JB is just another one, or a concert, etc. It's so much more than that.
About Movin' Out, I would say it was the perfect show for people who aren't used to watching dance (like me). I love Billy Joel and his music helped make the show accessible while the choreography gave it a special twist/innovation. But some people were probably hoping for dialogue, or just didn't "get it."
I love telling friends about JB. I have another friend in the UK, and I might give her a heads up about JB. I've already recommended that she see The History Boys either on film or on tour.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I never saw his number counter before you pointed out, Wendy! LOL. It's probably b/c I tend not to scroll down on his home page. And I have JLY's Blog bookmarked (I hope I'm not the only one?!) among Favorites so I tend to read/see that page the most, not the home page.
Wow I haven't been gone that long and you guys have made it to page 37, oh by the way after i post this all we will need iot 50 more post and we will be up to 1000 post of the thread.

nope your not the only one, I look at it every time I go on his page.
I remember when you couldn't even find John's web site on the web, it took me forever to find it, now look how many hits it is getting.
And I have JLY's Blog bookmarked (I hope I'm not the only?!)
you would't be a Jersey Boy fan if you didnt have his site bookmarked, I have all of there sites, blogs, forums, ext. bookmarked. So no you aren't the only one.

I love telling friends about JB.
I've been telling some friends about it, too. I've even gotten my younger sister into it. She's not as "obsessed" with is as I am, but I do hear her sing a little bit of some songs every now and then.

Thanks for the link to the website, Kathryn. I'll be sure to check it out. I hope to see him in the tour, if it comes anywhere near me.
Don't worry, Wendy-I've noticed the counter thingy too. :o)
Thanks for the info, Elle. Good to hear that John is feeling well and sounded great, especially so soon!
Kathryn: Thanks for that site. Someone on the main board mentioned that Michael was "marvelous" in tick tick Boom!, Jonathan Larson's show I might actually love more than RENT. :)
I'm excited to read reviews for the JB tour. Knowing my luck, it probably won't come near me until sometime in 2008. After gushing about JLY for a full uninterrupted 10 minutes, I went ahead and told a friend in Washington, DC to see JB if she's ever in NY or if it comes to her area. :)

From the JB blog:
On Friday, September 22 at 11:45 PM, Daniel Reichard will take the stage. “Come party with Daniel Reichard, star of Broadway’s Jersey Boys, as he returns to Ars Nova to explode late-night by hosting a midnight performance featuring special guest musicians in a night of mayhem you won’t want to miss. Reichard’s other credits include starring as artist Keith Haring in Radiant Baby at the Public Theater, the original cast of Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration, The Thing About Men at the Promenade Theatre, and many others.
Man, I wanna party with Daniel at midnight, LOL. And maybe it's just me but when I read the word "explode," it made me think of Daniel/Bob Gaudio's narration right before "Sherry": And the whole world exploded!
Yeah, I need help.

Sorry for the multiple posts!

I have the JB Blog, the official JB site, JLY's site/blog, Elle's site, Christian's site...all bookmarked. Plus I visit Myspaces. Are there any more I should be aware of? I think Bobby has one I need to add. Daniel is working on a site, correct?
Updated On: 9/1/06 at 07:42 PM
Bobby doesn't have a blog, but his site is http://bobbyspencer.com. Daniel's website is supposed to be up soon - http://danielreichard.com.
Ok this is off tpopic but I thought it was funny, search your user name in google and see how much comes up, 4 page of stuff comes up with jerseyboyslover, I had one idea that all of the stuff that came up would be posted for everyone on google to see.
Thanks for the links, Elle! I can't wait for Daniel's Web site.
Kathryn: I noticed that our BWW postings are up sometime last year. I looked up Norbert with another search term and all my gushings were on there for all the world to see.
