Oooh, speaking of John Lithgow. I don't know if you have seen my post on the other board but he is supposed to be one of the "interviewees" on tonights Broadway special on ABC. Maybe they will show clips from DRS. (pleasepleaseplease)
There's a Broadway special on tonight? Yay! What time?
A.
Alejandra-I just saw your post. I tried to post the link but for some reason I can't. Here is the article in case you haven't seen it yet:

my sister just used up over 37,000 bites or something like that on her cell phone by having been signed on to aim all day. now she's in deep sh*t. I know it's not relevant, but I didn't want to give this it's own thread...
hedwig: thanks for the info! I guess that show was only broadcast in NYC? On the main board someone mentioned that Norbert (onstage in DRS, I think) was shown, along with Sutton, some footage from Light in the Piazza, Shoshana singing Defying Gravity.
Alejandra
The special showed clips from DRS but it was very breif. The last few lines from "Dirty Rotten Number" are always nice to see. "Though we got screwed for fifty-grand, I think we still deserve a ha-a-a-and, dirty rotten guuuuys like uuuuuuuuuus!"
And Chrys would be very upset to know that the few minutes featuring CCBB were about dog selection. Oh, and Cheyenne! I loved the ASU clips! Cute special! If I can stay up, I might watch it again @ 5 in the AM.
Any clips of Matt Morrison in Light in the Piazza?
Alejandra
Very breif clips of MM. But I shreiked when I saw him! I've missed MM since Hairspray! He was my first Broadway crush. Can't wait to see him onstage again!
I'm sorry I missed Norbert, Matt, Sutton et. al on that special!
The link below has Real video of a Sh-K Boom concert (?) from a few years ago. Norbert, Sherie, Greg Naughton, and Tom Kitt Band performing with Michael Cerveris. Enjoy!
Amazing Journey concert clip
Alejandra: I can't believe you keep finding such great stuff! I have been a big fan of Michael Cerveris since he was on Fame! (Okay, now I am really dating myself!) Thanks for finding and posting this.

hedwig: oh, I was so happy to find that clip! :) Usually links that old would be outdated. Which would frustrate me like crazy. A very pleasant surprise.
RE: Broadway.com
On the subject of video clips--there *used* to be a clip on Broadway.com with Norbert, among a bunch of others, at a Sh-K Boom Room concert in 2000. Norbert, Sherie, Adam, Greg Naughton, and Michael McElroy sang songs together, quartet-style (I think Greg and Michael took turns singing). They sang "A Little Help from My Friends."
Unfortunately, I think that clip was taken down (?) to make room for the newer ones, including the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels opening night (yay!) and the DRS rehearsal. The opening night of Thou Shalt Not is still up (page 6 or 7?). Norbert is featured in that. =)
Alejandra
Hey you guys,
Below is the link to DRS opening night photos, courtesy of Filmmagic.com. These are definitely worth taking a look at, b/c there were several pics that I hadn't seen elsewhere of Norbert & the gang.
On that note--no offense to Shoshana, but if an Elphaba came to the DRS opening night, I would have preferred it to be Idina. I would have loved more Norbert and Idina pics (or, to a lesser extent, Idina and Adam pics). JMO.

What was it I was saying about wanting to see a Norbert/Idina pic?
Well, I found one, albeit old. LOL. I'd never seen this one...Norbert and Idina with Gregory Maguire. Yay! There are also several pics of Kristin and Norbert--different variations of a pic we've seen a bunch of times.
In general, I have to say, Norbert looks hot in these Wicked opening night photos.

Oh Alejandra, you're too good to us! What would we do without you getting all this good stuff for our viewing pleasure?
My friend gave me a recording of Norbert singing "Another Day" from Rent and I'm in love with it! The way he sings "start" in "But the fire's dead-ain't never ever gonna start" is not to be believeed! I've never heard Roger with such a beautiful voice but still rock at the same time. I'm so used to Adam's voice on the obcr that it was nice to hear a different version. I saw Jeremy Kushnier a couple times, he was very rock. And I don't remember Sebastian's voice. I would've loved to have seen Norbert as Roger.
I think Mr. Butz should sneak into his close friend's studio and lay down some tracks. "Oh, hi Sherie. Can I see your bag?" *he finds the magical sh-k-boom key and makes magic happen*
broadway betty: mmmmm, Norbert as Roger. Norbert was a cool Mark, too!
Who was the Mimi on Another Day? Norbert's One Song Glory is stunning.
Norbert has such an exceptionally beautiful, unique voice. *sigh*
From what I've heard, I really like Jeremy Kushnier though too!
An anecdote: A fan on Idina's forum (So Beautiful) posted about her stagedoor experience the other night after DRS. If you'd like to read her post, it's in the DRS thread in the Pizza Delivery Boys section. :)
She had a picture of Norbert from Rent with her, which made Norbert say, "I look so young" and liken the photo to seeing an old high school picture. When the fan met Sherie, Sherie asked what the fan was carrying: "It's a picture from Norbert in Rent. I looked for one of you, but I couldn't find one." To which Sherie replied, something like, "I made sure no one would be able to find them..." LOL.
I would like for Norbert to record a CD through Sh-K Boom. He used to write his own material and sing in coffee shops/clubs when he was first starting out (before he came to NY?). I wonder, though, since he considers himself first and foremost an actor who sings, if he would resist something like that.
Or maybe he just hasn't had any time, LOL. Who knows? It's something worth asking him about.
Alejandra
He sounds great as Mark or Roger, the man can do no wrong!
I don't know who's playing Mimi on "Another Day" but I love her voice. She sound so sweet! I know that Marcy Harriel was Mimi when Norbert was Roger but I don't know what she sounds like. Must wait for LENNON.
I hope he makes a cd of his own. Adam has two, Idina has two, Kristin has two, why the hell can't Norbert have one?!?! His voice is beautiful and edgy and everything that a great voice should be. Actors that shouldn't sing have bands and crap, Norbert is equally talented in both fields, he should have his own cd. Should I bring this to his attention on Tuesday. I dunno, he's a busy fella, we'll see.
Marcy has a great voice. :) I'm happy that she's cast in LENNON.
Norbert is indeed equally talented in both acting and singing, and I would love for him to have a CD. We can hope. I'd also love to know whether Sherie is working on another solo CD.
New article posted on the official Web site. The author of this article has been a Norbert fan for years, and this latest piece praises him (and Sara Gettlefinger) in DRS.
Happy reading!

I Knew Them When...
Hey y'all,
Playbill.com just posted this. I can't wait for the cast recording to come out! Esp. to hear Great Big Stuff, Dirty Rotten Number, Love is My Legs and Nothing is Too Wonderful to Be True. =)

DRS OBCR
Opening Night anecdote:
>>Across the room, NORBERT LEO BUTZ was leaping (of faith) on co-star JOHN LITHGOW and licking his face for the cameras, just like in the musical. (So I guess they're not like the La Cage stars, who hate each other.) "It's the best love story on Broadway," Butz exulted to me. Is there licking offstage? "With me, John Lithgow, and SHERIE RENE SCOTT," he said, laughing, "the possibilities are endless. John's very sweet to the taste. He's a very attentive lover." At that point, I dumped Norbert and leapt on John too.
La Dolce Musto (villagevoice blurb)
Regis just mentioned he saw DRS last night, starring John Lithgow and "Norman" Leo Butz..jeez! Hopefully, he will be a household name soon!
Silly Regis! Well he IS up there in years!! Who can forget a name like NORBERT?
I'm crossing my fingers on the "household name" thing.
Alejandra: are you sick of being thanked so much?! Just wanted to say a big fat THANKS (again) for being our little Norbert Angel and bringing us all such fabulous Norbie-Goodies:)
Can not wait for that cast recording!
