Late to the Love in... still Totally blwn away by this man & his talent. He can take a limited role and polish it so it just sparkles. SO glad I saw him in DRS- & he autographed my playbill- still seems genuinely surprised that folks wait for hi & cheer when he comes out.
>Norbert Norbert Norbert. The world is lucky to have a lot of Norbert right now.
sipos, *amen* to that. After he left Wicked, I missed him so much. LOL. And I still hope we hope we get lots of press/articles about Norbert, Sherie, John and DRS. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see him on Late Show with David Letterman...
FabalaYero85, yay. I love the SB forum and I can't wait to see your pics! They sound great. Norbert has priceless facial expressions.
sabrelady, I think it's so cool that Norbert still seems surprised that people come to see him after the show. (He may have to get used to seeing a lot more after the Tony Awards, but I don't want to jinx him, lol). After awhile, it could be easy for actors to become jaded.

Yes, he always looks surprised at the stage door. The only time he came out after Wicked, he almost walked away from the crowd till I screamed "Norbert, Norbert, Norbert!!!" and he came over to me and signed my playbill! Also, after seeing DRS for the first time, he had this "What? For me?" look on his face when everyone was howling for him(especially me!). It's funny how he can go from running around in his boxers and dry-humping John on stage to being so shy and quiet at the stage door. Ah, a true actor!
He can't keep that look for long b/c DRS is going to make him a star!
They're recording DRS tomorrow, I'm so excited! And I'm going back to DRS on Tuesday!
Did anyone read the Broadway Abridged version of DRS? It's hilarious! Norbert does go in and out of this gay voice throughout the show. They totally got it! It does make fun of the show but it's also VERY funny! I read it at school and evreryone was like "what's up with her?" b/c I was turning red and I couldn't stop laughing. I have to read it again!
SB is So Beautiful, Idina Menzel's fan forum. :) It's also a name of a pretty song of hers on her CD, Here. They have an off topic board which sometimes includes Norbert-related topics.
broadway betty: just thought I'd mention--I love School of Rock!
LOL.
Alejandra
Recording today! So excited for them and for us! Can't wait to hear it, of course.
Broadway Betty: How many times have you seen DRS? Have fun tomorrow (so jealous-yet happy for you:)
Hedwig-I'll be seeing DRS for the third time on Tuesday night! I'm very excited! I wish that you could see it, too! I don't mean to rub it but I like to share my experiences with my friends on bww. The first two times were during previews so I can't wait to see if anything has changed.
Chrysanthemum wants to see it again but she might not be able to get out of her night classes. Hopefully, I'll get to see her cuz I'll be in the city the rest of the week TRYING to get to the Rent set. I hope to have pics to show you guys from a , hopefully, fabulous week!
Hi again!
Broadway Betty-3 times! Oh, if only I were an east coaster! I will be making my first trip out there though the first week of April.
(I may have mentioned this already, but I am so excited about it I will gladly do it again-)
My first Broadway show will be DRS. I also have tix for Spamalot. Thinking about seeing Little Women also but not sure yet what my 3rd show will be. Any suggestions? I'm holding off on shows that will be touring or have toured here in SoCal(like Wicked, Rent, etc.)
hedwig: I'm an LJ junkie! I love the communities and I'm addicted to icons....
Alejandra
Hedwig-I'm so excited that you'll be seeing DRS soon! You'll LOVE it! I'd keep a spot in your schedule open cuz you might want to see it again!
You have Spamalot tix! I'm so jealous, I'm gonna TRY cancellation or SRO so I can see the killer rabbits. LITTLE WOMEN is worth seeing just for Sutton. It's a nice show, I liked it. If you can, try to see AVENUE Q. It's across the street from DRS and they also have a lottery. And I don't know if you saw HAIRSPRAY in LA, but it's one of my favorites and is very funny and catchy! Have a ball!
Alejandra-I just saw "School of Rock" this weekend cuz Emcee said that Adam was in it. It was cool to see him on film. The little gay boy was so cute! I love that line and his delivery, it was priceless!
NORBERT RULES!
triple posts, i'm so embarrassed *does the Ashlee Simpson jig*
hedwig and bb: Avenue Q is hysterical. :) It's great if you love smart, cynical humor. Best to skip if you're with an overly conservative person or with someone who could be easily offended. But I like it alot.
And this sounds silly...but I didn't realize Adam was in School of Rock! LOL. I saw it months ago, and while I've heard of Adam years before, it wouldn't have occurred to me while watching the movie the first time.
On the main board there is a thread RE: Feeling Electric, a new show being developed by Tom Kitt. Michael Arden has auditioned for it. :) It won a Jonathan Larson grant last year. I mention it here b/c Norbert, Sherie and Greg Naughton did a concert reading of the show in July 2002. =)

I hated school of rock the first time I saw it...I forced myself to watch it just because adam was in it...
Alejandra check your PMs on SB...
I wanna see DRS again...Now!!!! (but I have to wait till the summer and do lottery with my friends)
(Norbs ROcks!!)
New favorite songs from "The Last Five Years"--The Schmuel Song and Nobody Needs to Know. Norbert's voice SOARS on those songs, especially at the end of "Nobody" when he signs "ALL RIGHT-I get what I need". He is just ridiculously talented.
Also, thinking ahead... wouldn't it be great when/if (not to jinx) Nobert wins the Tony, it was awarded to him by last year's female winner--Idina! That would be sweet.
FabalaYero85, thanks for the heads up. I replied to your thread in SB. =)
I would love for Idina to present Norbert with his Tony (if he wins). That would be so ideal!

Yesterday, I was in the car with my mom, listening to L5Y. She was like "is this....?"
me: "NORBERT, MOM!!"
my mom: "ha, Norbert. Norbert Butz."
me: "Man, he probably got made fun of. But I love him."
my mom: "Yeah... he looks like someone who'd get made fun of. Norbert Butz. ha."
Just thought I'd share.
I think John Lithgow is going to be on today's NY's "Live at Five", for those in the NY area.
thanks, wendy! could you or anyone in the area give a summary of what he talks about?
emcee, your story is so funny! One of my favorite memories is when I saw Rent with my mom (she got tickets from a friend of hers). I loved the show, but she was like, "that was...interesting. Different." LOL. My mom watches stuff like Seventh Heaven b/c it's "wholesome". I wonder how my mom would react to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? LOL.
Playbill posted a short blurb on the DRS recording session.
