BB: I WISH I could go!

I have to disagree Alejandra (although it pains me to)..I thought the host mentioned the show ALOT.
Did anyone else see NY1 that was fun?
Here is my very brief rundown.
Norbert and Sherie were very gracious. The clips from the show were quick but nice. That had me salivating to see the show again. Norbert talked about how everyone says he is "breaking out" but he is just happy to be working. He talked for a while about how they have totally reworked "Great BIg Stuff", for a whole he said it was about to be cut. They tried it with the dancers and him alone and finally settled on the "Its his dream" staging that works so perfectly. They really seem to love working together and made fun comments about each others kids and Sherrie grooming Norbert. They refused to bite on the should you win a Tony and will you be screwed by Spamalot questions. Norbert was so humble and Sherie was just gorgeous and fantastic. They were also really funny and playing off each other until the annoying host would interupt with another dumb question.
I was disappointed with QVC too, but its all that could really be expected, This is what I posted on the main board thread, it also applies here.: Again I'm happy with what I got, I spent the whole time doing other stuff and ran in to record the songs. Rak and Jbara did a really nice job. I'm not sure how I would feel otherwise, but since I have seen the show (multiple times) I loved just seeing it again. Besides these QVC watchers are probably more drawn to this more pc less funny stuff than the real "showstopers"
I would have loved to see "Great Big Stuff" but never expected it.
A mention or two of Norbert's and Sherries's names though, that I am pissed didn't happen!
I checked my cable listings--NY1 was not among them (sigh)..this interview sounded really great.
I remember something both Dennis Quaid and Kevin Bacon have been said--that each was told they were going to "break out"/be nominated after this or that movie. ("The Right Stuff" for Quaid.."JFK" for Bacon.) Neither has ever been nominated for an Oscar. But, they are terrific actors with solid work behind them and ahead of them. Maybe Norbs fits into that category (although I DO hope this is his year!)
I won't be able to see the interview till I get the tape from my grandparents. Did Roma do the interview or Donna? Donna asks the stupidest questions. Did you see the Kristin/Idina interview? No one cares how much YOU liked the Wizard of Oz, ask them questions!
It was Roma, she wasn't that bad but I wanted to see Sherie and Norbert talk, or maybe break into song
Hey smartpenguin-thanks for the summary. I wish I could have seen it!
It was very enjoyable, short but enjoyable. Come to think of it it may be the reason I was happier with the QVC thing, I already had my Norbert fix. There was a very breif clip of Great Big Stuff!
I just wanted to see Norbert and Sherie on tv. I really thought they'd be there.
Sorry that I'm like every other post, just avoiding my studies.
*sings "there is life outside Norbert's love thread, and now it's time to go sleeep"*
Haha, no worries broadway betty, I feel the same way. I have so much schoolwork to do its unbelieveable. But "I'm still Here"
Again it was the NY1 piece that really scratched that itch. Sherie is so pretty! Norbert is amazing. Gred was great too though.
I've calmed down somewhat, yay! Totally off-topic, but I watched a favorite movie (The Empire Strikes Back) that I hadn't seen in awhile and it made me feel better.
hi wendy, I agree that the host mentioned the show a lot, but thought that she didn't seem to know anything specific about it. So her reiterations about how wonderful the show is--even though it IS--didn't ring true for me. Or maybe I was just irked b/c I really wanted to see Norbs, even on video, and I didn't get it.
But it was my fault for getting too excited in the first place. I should be happy that QVC even promoted the show at all. And Gregory is fabulous!
smart penguin, thank you so much for that summary. Awww, it sounds short but utterly adorable. :)

Wow, I've missed a lot and I've only been gone for a few weeks! Ugh, I blame it all on school (I should *really* be working on my Gov paper, but screw it!). I'm so jealous of you smartpenguin, I wish I lived in the city!! But, I'm glad to hear you finally stage doored! Was it as scary as you thought?
So, is anyone here actually going to the DRS Block Party tomorrow? Again, I wish I lived in the city, but instead I'll be suffering through my Pre-Calc class (we have a test tomorrow too, GROSS!)
Oh, and to get back to a question Alejandra as me a while ago...yes, my friends and I made shirts for Norb. They were green t-shirts with black writing that said, "Norby, I've fallen under your spell." We even put black stars around it and added some silver glitter to make it pretty. I admit, it was kinda corny, but it got us a picture with him! And he kept saying, "Awww...thanks" over and over with this cute smile that made me want to glomp him! Sorry it took me so long to respond Alejandra!
Okay, I should really try to get my paper done sometime before never! Gosh...I'm such a procrastinator...
only-the-good-die-young, I'm getting convinced that the Internet was partially invented to enhance human beings' natural tendency to procrastinate. When I have to write something, I usually put a quiet movie that I've seen 1,000 times in the background (Casablanca, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Camelot, Anastasia come to mind). Helps pass the time!
As for the shirts you made...seriously, all I can say is awwwwwww! That's so sweet. :) Norbert's reaction sounds cute! BTW, the little hand motions Norbert made while singing that line...I so loved that part. LOL.
For those of you going to the DRS block party tomorrow, I hope it doesn't rain! Have fun!
Hey smart penguin, not to obsess or anything (ok, so I am), but what did Sherie mean when she said she "grooms" Norbert?
Alejandra
OTGDY-You're not the only one who puts off work here! I'm skipping both my classes tomorrow to go to the DRS block party. I cannot wait for my cd!
I think the rain won't be too bad but we'll see. I hate carrying an umbrella but if I must...I'll carry it for Norbs.
I had an idea for a Norbert t-shirt. The red, white, and blue sports logo with an outline of a singer and would say NLB instead of MLB. Call me a dork, I can take it!
Broadway Betty--
The NLB shirt idea is AMAZING!!! I love it....we should do it! Seriously, let me know if you really want a shirty like that. My sorority has lots of shirts made like that...
As far as tomorrow, have fun, take lots of pics of Norbert, & let us know how wonderful the CD is. I wish I could be there...if I didn't have a final on Thursday...I'd so be there with ya!!!
I love the idea for the shirt, that is fantastic!!
I will be there tomorrow no matter the weather. Yes the stage door was scary, but they were really really nice.
I have two paper, one already late and another due Thursday but instead of writting them I am here, and instead of class I will be at the block party.
Sherrie was saying she combs Norbert's chest hair or something back stage, and makes jokes about trimming his nose hairs on stage, it doesn't translate but was really funny and cute. It was about how they have worjed together 8 times a week for most of the past six or so years so they feel a lot like a couple, or best friends.
The whole thing was adorable.
To all those fortunate enough to be going to the block party tomorrow--Have a great time, and take some pics if you can. Wish I could be there, of course, but I am happy to live vicariously through you all. Can't wait to hear all about it...
smartpenguin: Very cute about Sherie grooming Norbert:)
broadwaybetty: I love the shirt idea! Very original!

Woo! I finally finished my paper! I wish all of you luck with everything you're procrastinating on! LOL, we should start like a Proscrastinator's Anonymous on this thread, we all seem to be great candidates.
I also wish everyone luck with the rain tomorrow at the Block Party. I know if I were out there I'd brave anything for Norby! I hope to see tons of pictures!
Oh, and Broadway Betty, I love the shirt idea! Since we're on the subject of Norbert shirts, my friends and I had a few other ideas than the one we settled on, and my favorite out of the ones we dumped said, "Norby, I'd go out onto a limbovich for you!" Again, very corny. But seriously, I really like the NLB shirt idea.
(sidenote: Aww...I love Norb and Sherie! They're so cute together!)

YAY! I'm going tomorrow! I can not wait! This is gonna be fun!
I probably shouldn't be going, but screw it! You only live once!
smart penguin: Aw, Sherie and Norbert are so freakin' cute! I love them. Thanks for elaborating.
only-the-good-die-young: yay, you finished your paper! No kidding, I have a book called The Procrastinator's Handbook by Rita Emmett. It has a ton of helpful tips on curbing bad habits LOL.
Like hedwig, I'm living vicariously through y'all who get to experience the DRS fun first hand, so..soak it all in and have fun tomorrow.
Broadway Betty, I love your shirt idea! Very creative. LOL we should do it.

"I think I read that Jbara's band will be playing on Wednesday"
Actually, that would be Yazbek's band. :)
Decided to edit this in instead of possibly having 2 posts in a row:
"Any pointers on stage dooring (new word?) would be appreciated. :P"
Smartp. ... Please doo the stage door thing at DRS. You'll be so glad you did. They are just people. We're all God's children. Fine, you may be a bit nervous at first, but don't worry about that because I bet that after a very few seconds, you'll be fine. They will help put you at ease. Greg is great at that. And he really does appreciate his fans. Just talk to them the way you would, say, another bww board member you meet there. Say how much you enjoy the show ... tell them how many times you've seen it, what you like best, etc. You'll do great!! If you have a photo taken with Greg, send it to us to post on his web site! We've been posting stage door pics taken by fans.

Ah, sorry about that!
Hey I did say "I thought I read somewhere" that doesn't make me too bad right
Cool to see Yazbeck's band, I guess it will be a party. Although I'd like to see Jbara in a band playing, maybe a Norbert-Greg duo. :)

Smart, I don't know if Greg's been in a band since marching band in high school. lol ...
Did I tell you to "doo the stage door" ?? ... lol ..
Hey I was in a band in High School, maybe he and I can start one up
I think it was you who told me to "doo the stage door" and it was great advice I loved it. Although I don't like to bother actors usually so I am not about to become a regular. They were really, really nice though.
