Anyway I saw the Pillowman tonight and oh my god it was fantastic.
Billy Crudup was fabulous in every way and wow this is hard to say, should have the tony (I thought Irwin was fabulous as well, but Crudup was just so far up there!) I want to see Doubt soon, but I really think it has no chance to surpass this in my mind, this was totally my kind of play.

I'll be Lotterying DRS again tomorrow, I need my Norbs, I must see Norbs! Arg!

I knew Billy would change your mind! His was truly the best acting I've ever seen on a stage. He ain't bad to look at either! But that's not the point, I just thought I'd throw that in.

I'm also quite excited about the Sweeney revival. I get to boast that I saw THE Patti live on stage. My Uncle will be so proud of me! And you know that Chrys is flipping her wig about Michael Cerveris.

I've brought this up already but I don't think I've talked to you, Sp, about it. Have you heard about The Great American Trailer Park Musical? It got raves at one of those theatre festivals but I don't know which. Anyway, it's starting previews on the 20th and I'm really excited b/c it has a great cast. Orfeh(!!!), Linda Hart(Hairspray), Leslie Kritzer(Hairspray, Godspell), Shuler Hensley(Oklahoma), Kaitlin Hopkins(Bat Boy, Bare), Marya Grandy(?), and Wayne Wilcox(!!!!! Gilmore Girls, Fabrizio in pre-Broadway Piazza, Jamie in L5Y).

Hi all, not usually around this thread much, posted briefly after the first time I saw DRS and he was AMAZING...but heh came to read the funny comment about the Greg thread...(me?? crazy? why, just b/c the other day I was told on aim that I am currently scaring my friend too much?) But one thing I can respond to...well from a page or two ago..

I have been fortunate to see DRS 6 times(::looks around whistling::) but for good prices--3 lottos(friends won, not me), a TDF preview, and two half price times, and the 6th time I went which was a lotto time, Joe was in for Norbie. Now considering it was my 6th time, I knew the show so well, that I pretty much knew everything he did different from Norbie which is kinda sad. I am biased and did prefer Norbie, but I think Joe did a great job, considering what he had to live up to. His singing was great, I think the only thing I could say that was def weaker was some dancing, and he didn't slide down the stair rail. But like my friends who were seeing the show for the first time thought he was absolutely fantastic, so I really wouldn't think it would be necessary to get a refund on your tickets if Norbert is out, Joe is a very adequate fill-in!

Ah, L5Y. So wonderful.

Talking about Green Day makes me think: what music do you guys listen to, besides Norbert & Broadway?

I listen to everything, with a bent toward movie scores (e.g. Howard Shore--yeah, I'm an LOTR geek), Dashboard Confessional, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Yellowcard, Snow Patrol. When in a mellow mood I like Loreena McKennitt.

i listen to EVERYTHING. wierd, i know. but, showtunes are my fav. like you, alejandra, i LOVE yellowcard, coldplay, maroon 5, and swtichfoot. i also like listening to opera and symphonic recordings. (i play flute and sing in choir) i own all of the LOTR soundtracks, as well as many other movie scores. i also like to listen to the black eyed peas, ciara, missy elliot, alicia keys, usher. i also like hawaiian regaee. i listen to the occasional pop songs. only thing that i'm not a big fan of is country. huh. :)

Point of interest--John Mayer grew up in my town and I know his parents --have seen him tooling around in a nice silver porche. He is handsome, but his head is HUGE!

That reminds me, as was asked earlier, I have been following GATPM it is really exciting and i want to see. Hopefully soon I shall. I'm going to see L5Y again in two weeks in Boston!
