Hello Movie/Jamie and welcome,
what do the Greg threaders do that is so crazy? I only stopped by once to pay respects to Greg.
I'm glad you stayed for the show, as much as I love Norbert the show is very good anyway and any exposure to the genre is good for you.
I'm sure you will meet him someday, he is very nice, although shy.
You can't get refunds or exchanges but when people go to see a show for a certain star like Hugh in The Boy from Oz and he's out you can demand a refund, I think. I would make a big stink if Norbert was out when I went to DRS. I'd demand a refund b/c I wouldn't enjoy myself without him, especially when paying $100 per ticket.
I actually want to see it without him now to see how someone else plays the part. I've never actually spent that much for a ticket though.
That's b/c you have the luck of the Irish...or the penguin or whatever. I've only won a lotto once, for Spelling Bee.
Well I am of Irish decent and a penguin so I guess I have both.
I did lose again on Sunday though. I have won my share for all the shows though, I can not complain.
Hi everybody--There are some pics of Norbs and Michelle at the Actor's Fund performance of "Pillowman". They look great, not so sure about the hat on Norbs, though!
ooh, do you have a link!? i'd LOVE to see them!
ah, i'll just google them up, i suppose. :)
YAY! Norbert's Ask a Star on broadway.com is finally up! *off to read*
Ok, this one has got to be my favorite:
From Mark Setlock: Have you gotten into the habit of bathing once a week? I know you professional dancers can really get ripe.
Norbert: Thank you Mark. By professional dancer I assume you are referring to my recent Fred Astaire award? It depends on the role, really, how much one should bathe... Freddy is a little dirtbag. A real street hustler. Sometimes I'll let a couple weeks go by before doing a real thorough cleaning. You know, just to keep it authentic. I'm all about keeping it real on stage, Mark. Now Fiyero in Wicked...he's a prince. A real smooth ladies man. I made sure I did a full body scrub once a week. The ladies like a fresh prince. So, you know, you just go with your gut instinct about these things. Every actor is different.
LMAO!!!
The new Pulitzer Prize winning play: "Betty: I Am My Own Conversation"
I'm lovin' these Pillowman pics! Norbert and Sutton and Billy, oh my! Bad Wicked joke, sorry. Anyway, I wonder what Norbert thought of the play since it has to do with the murders and torturing of young children. It's a truly great play but some parts are very difficult to sit through.
Just read "Ask a Star"..darn, my question didn't get up there..but there were some good ones! Anyone else impressed with how Norbs has his priorities straight (his family, friends and committments to his work)? What a honey!
From Hayley: If you were a super hero, what would you be known as?
Norbert responds: Um... I'm really good at hula-hoopin. Could I be Captain Hoops, fighting crime with my multiple rings?
ROTFLMBO!!!
oh man, the thing is that i CAN imagine norb hulahopping around town. hahahahahahaha! i can't breathe!!!!!!!!
oh, btw, ARE there any pictures out there of him and his kids? cuz i always hear about em, but i've never seen what they look like! were they at the tonys?
They did not appear to be at the Tonys--and I have not seen any pics of them. He seems to want his personal life kept that way, good for him!
yeah, that IS a good thing. and i can understand why he does that. (i'd do the same) but, u know, i was just curious! :)
Hi Thespian Geek (gosh, I have no idea how to shorten that acceptably) it was great meeting you! You are really nice in person.
Wow you saw him got a picture and a hug AND saw the kiddies, that is fabulous. I knew I should have gone back there with you, grr. I hate that I'm so shy about the stage door.
I saw Lennon, it was ok, performances were great but it had some issues in spots.
Man I love Norbert, I MUST see DRS again and soon!
Happy Birthday TG! I'm glad it was a good one!
H.
Just call me TG or Caitlin.
Thank you, Hedwig!
Duh, I'm such an idiot I forgot to send you birthday wishes earlier Thes, HAppY BiRtHdaY!!! which of course it was, so I can't get in trouble for saying it
Hehe! I think you wished me a happy birthday when we were lottoing, actually. I mentioned it and you said "oh, well happy birthday!" or something like that. I don't know. I'm still kind of on some crazy Norbert high that the rest of my day except for the last 3 hours is a blur.
HAPPY (eh...it's 1:16AM) BELATED B-DAY KAITLYN!
and, oh man, oh man, you are SO LUCKY!! that is THEE BEST GIFT...EVER. i mean, i would consider seeing DRS the best gift of all (which WAS my b-day gift this year!), but, getting to HUG norbert AND see his daughters! eek! so cool!
but, why isn't he supposed to take pictures?
>>Norbert responds: Um... I'm really good at hula-hoopin. Could I be Captain Hoops, fighting crime with my multiple rings?
That right there is my next sig quote, LOL. I'm on a Johnny Depp high, so I switched sigs but...Norbert, you are the funniest and coolest person.
And I'm glad that he had a Sherie-related question and that he answered the one we had about releasing a CD. I hope he gets around to it one day.
Caitlin, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I am so glad you had a great experience meeting Norbert!!!! Hehe, I can't help pointing out that it was I who pointed out that he'd once, long ago, been in a Nebraska Theatre van.
Specific details about tonight's show would be greatly appreciated!
Alejandra
alejandra, would you mind if i added it to my siggy, too? :) (and might i say, i LOOOVVE your avatar! it's so CUTE! he makes m&m's look like the sexiest things alive! haha)
Jamie, go right ahead and use it for your sig! :)
RE: Norb's Q&A interview, I also loved what he said about RENT. I love that everyone involved with that show gets so affected by it--for the people in Rent in the very beginning, especially.
Alejandra
Bottom of page 2!!!! Noooooo!!!!!!
We even have people making random other "I love Norbert threads," no no people this is the place to be!!
Anyway I saw the Pillowman tonight and oh my god it was fantastic.
Billy Crudup was fabulous in every way and wow this is hard to say, should have the tony (I thought Irwin was fabulous as well, but Crudup was just so far up there!) I want to see Doubt soon, but I really think it has no chance to surpass this in my mind, this was totally my kind of play.
I'll be Lotterying DRS again tomorrow, I need my Norbs, I must see Norbs! Arg!
yeah, this thread is way too cool to be on the bottom of page 2! (actually, i saved the link, cuz usually it's not on the first page! why, people!?)
