The NHL has replaced their annual All-Star game with three game tournament involving four countries (US, Canda, Finland, Sweden). Last night the US played Canada in Game Two in Montreal. The Canadian crowd disgraced themselves by loudly booing during the US national anthem. (BTW - Trudeau was at the game). The public address announcer had the class to admonish the crowd and try to get them to stop. The NHL commissioner was in attendance and not very happy at the boorish behavior of the crowd. The disrespect of the American players and the US at a sporting event was awful. Fine, sing your country's national anthem with pride. No problem with cheering your own players but this nonsense did not belong at sporting event among countries.
Three seconds into the game several fights broke out because the American players were not "having it" with the crowd disrespect. Even better was the US won the game 3-1 and that shut the crowd up. Hate to tell Canadians but American players are better at their national past time than them -lol.
On this board, Trump will somehow be blamed and of course the American players will probably be labeled scum. This board finds so many faults with the US but turns blind eye to faults of other countries. For fun, let's play role reversal and imagine this same game being played in Madison Square Garden in New York. Then imagine the crowd booing loudly while the song "Oh Canada" is being played and will not stop. I can only imagine the snarky comments about the "MAGA crowd" that would be said on BWW.
