Great video! Especially the ending. Usually, I don't participate in the troll hunting. I just thought it was weird that we were seeing such a specific reference that came out of nowhere. And let's face it, we have had a resurgence in certain trolls recently (and some even sillier and far more persistent inaccurate troll accusations that just wouldn't stop).

One word of advice: don't use Loretta Swit as the same punchline for your only joke. It gets really old really fast and it never ever is funny.

Meh...it may not be Dollypop, but definitely a shadow. Doesnt change the nasty crap this kid has posted.
You may have been off by a hair, but this is still sock-lite behavior.

Plus, I think this kid is smarter than DP.

Alright, well you can't please everyone all the time, but thanks for any kind words anybody may have said. Thanks also to PalJoey for telling me how to pronounce Proust (my English teacher last year recommended reading him and apparently he didn't know how to pronounce his name either). I would also like to know what exactly a "sock puppet" is in relation to this Board, and what the behaviors of one are.

I stand by my original instinct and the way the posting patterns raised my hackles. It was all -- and even now, reading back, still looks -- very, very sock-like. But correlation is not causation. If one were especially paranoid, one could suppose that this video does not disprove prior accounts held by this person. I'm happy to let it rest. I was thought to be a sock when I first started, posting, too. C'est la guerre and all that.

I had another account on this board called "alpacasrock" a few years ago (dear God that username) and I forgot the password to it, so I stopped posting but kept reading this Board (a few days ago I asked what people like to do when listening to cast albums–I like to read old message board posts) because I enjoyed it and didn't want to create a duplicate account. A week or so ago I saw some thread about ALW revivals and I really wanted to comment, so I created an account. Also, I looked up "sock puppet" on The Urban Dictionary and it is apparently: "An account made on an internet message board, by a person who already has an account, for the purpose of posting more-or-less anonymously." so I guess in the technical sense of the word, I am a sock puppet, though I have in no way gained more anonymity through this.

A sock puppet is akin to a troll on this board.

It's someone who creates a phony account (they may or may not have a real account) for the sole purpose of disrupting conversations and instigating arguments.

Many socks pretend to be teens, so everyone is automatically suspicious of new, younger posters.

And with your interests and language being so much more sophisticated than the average 16 year old, it was a natural conclusion.

Using "That Streisand Woman" sealed the deal.

I'm happy that you're genuine. I think you will add a lot to this board.

This time next year you'll understand why people doubted you as we have an epidemic with socks here. You'll be doubting some posters too once you've experienced how annoying and relentless they can be.

So don't take any of this too personally.

Yeah tazber, looking back I seriously was a douche. Really sorry about that. I will try now to be less of a douche :) Yes, I did find my copy of the COE London Cast eventually, though it took quite a while, but I now have it on all 3 formats on which it was released. It definitely is much better than the 1998 recording, mainly for Ken Paige and the less 1970's-ish production values (Stephanie Mills's voice just echoes like crazy on that recording), and I liked Degenerations more than The Flood and the orchestrations are better on the '91 recording. I don't really like whoever sings "Ain't It Good?" as it was the understudy for the role singing on the cast recording and her voice is very weak. I also probably like Generations more on the '98 recording because it is an ensemble number instead of a duet, and I can see why Shipshape and Civilized Society were cut, though both are pretty good songs that just don't mesh with the style of the show. I totally agree with you on the COE comments. For me the biggest draw of that version is Frances Ruffle's version of The Dove Song and In Whatever Time We Have.
