One Life to Live - where theatre actors spend their days!

Watching OLTL today, and realized there were several Broadway/NY actors on the show today, of shows current and recent past, including:

Brian Kerwin (August: Osage County)
Bianca Marroquin (Chicago)
Barbara Walsh (Company)
Jason Tam (A Chorus Line)
Kathy Brier (Hairspray)
Brittany Underwood (Mother Courage)

And just thinking back, in just the past year we had:
Jonathan Groff
Deidre Goodwin
Andre Ward
January LaVoy
Alexandra Neil
And not to mention the people that showed up on Prom Night: The Musical last spring!

For that and many other reasons, it's the best show you're not watching!

Current Thurgood star Laurence Fishburne also spent some time on OLTL, as did Fosse's Valerie Pettiford, and of course Xanadu's Kerry Butler. If I'm not mistaken, Christine Ebersole was also on at one point, as well as Marsha Mason, Matt Cavenaugh, and another of course, The Lion King's, Color Purple's and Rent's final Mimi Rene Elise Goldsbury.
I killed the boss, you don't think they're gonna fire me over a thing like that!!!!

*bump*

For Lea DeLaria, who popped up today as Madame Delphina to give a psychic reading to the Cramer clan, and particularly newlyweds David Vickers and Addie Cramer.

There's also Pamela Peyton-Wright, who plays Blair's mother, Addie.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I watch it when I can. I remember Groff being on it. Good times.
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

I mentioned that earlier, JerseyGirl2. Now, I've heard Lea is on tomorrow as well, but I can't tell since it looks like they've stopped their "next time on OLTL" as of today.

Oh, I almost forgot, Peter Bartlett was on today as well, in his long-running role as Nigel. Gotta love him.

Sorry, Taboo, I missed what you said...lol. I think Lea is going to be on for a while. I saw her Thursday night and she said she had been doing night shoots for the show up in Rhinebeck.

Awww, Norn. I giggled when I saw her. I haven't watched the show in years, but tuned back in recently. Starr is the one pregnant. Jess has the MPD. Marty and Tina are back. I just don't know what to thinl.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I think this month will be one of the best in recent memory! Carlo Hesser and Cain Rogen are coming back shortly, and whatever you do folks, don't miss the 40th anniversary episodes later this month, I believe July 21st and 22nd...there's gonna be a ton of faves coming back, some time-traveling and yep, Viki's going back to heaven!

According to Nelson Branco at The Suds Report (a great blog for all you soapies!):

"Lesbian superstar Lea DeLaria (Delfina) will be sticking around OLTL throughout the summer in a very interesting storyline. Wow — an openly gay star on daytime! Who would have ever thought?!"

I haven't seen OLTL since my son stopped napping. I did see that the original Tina was back though. And I saw parts of the Prom musical thing. That was kinda bizarre!

Patricia Elliot, who won a Tony for A Little Night Music, played Renee Buchanan for years. Not sure if she is still on there though. I got the show through osmosis whenever I was visiting my mom and growing up.
