One of my favorite tv shows on NBC is finally coming back to television. "Parks & Recreation" is returning to NBC on January 20, 2011 after being put on hold during Amy Poehler's maternity leave. The show will air Thursdays at 9:30 Eastern/8:30 Central. "30 Rock" is also being moved to 10:00 Eastern / 9:00 PM Central.

aww,why did they keep Community at 8? they should have moved it to 8:30. Or even 10:30 after 30 Rock. What's Perfect Couples? I already feel it ruining my Thursday night line up.
glad to see 30 Rock get out of that dreadful 8:30 spot, especially when it was up against the overflow from the Big Bang Theory (aka S$#* My Dad Says). Perfect Couples is pretty much dead already, with a soft lead-in from Community to begin with. I wish they would throw Outsourced out against Big Bang Theory at 8 and bump Community back to after 30 Rock at 10:30.
Either way, NBC has renewed 30 Rock for a Sixth Season and that's all I really care about.

Thank god, I've been aching for some Leslie, Tom and Ron.

I have no idea what they are doing with 30 Rock at 10. They really don't know where to place that thing.
Consider this a legacy of The Jay Leno Show. NBC really did not prep well for the 10 o'clock about a year removed from staking Leno as a 5 days a week programming that ultimately went bust. Bill Carter actually thinks it is pretty possible that NBC will turn into Fox and go straight to news at 10 since the ratings have not been there (and many affiliates are not happy that they are really slacking in their 10 o'clock lead-ins). The outlook gets grimmer once Carrell leaves The Office.
The were strong rumors that Poehler's pregnancy for the hiatus was a red herring and there were enough episodes shot before she had her kid to be shown on its original Thursday timeslot. But apparently NBC really liked Outsourced enough to reshuffle the timeslot having The Office be its lead-in and 30 Rock have a crappy lead-in (and I say this as a fan of Community).
Honestly Community's humor would be best aided and abetted at the 10 o'clock hour than 30 Rock, which you would think from its critical track record would not be shuffled around like this, but that's the state of NBC programming. At least the jokes write for themselves.
But back to Parks & Rec, Leslie, Ron, April, Tom, and Andy cannot return soon enough. Plus Adam Scott is becoming a regular character!

30 Rock has always been more of a prestige grab than a ratings getter. Ratings of course not helped by the ever-shuffling time slot and ideas like taking it off the air during sweeps month in order to save it.
Very happy for this news. I love Parks and Recreation!

As someone who has dealt with small town beaurocracy, let me tell you, this show really rings true. The bitter rivalry between the parks & rec people and the library people, for example.

did anyone watch it last night? FREAKING HILARIOUS!! Watching Amy Poehler act sick was just a pure highlight of the episode... her lines about the walls and floors switching places to the exchange rate of heiroglyphics was comedic writing at its best made better by Amy Poehler.. and Ron and Andy bonding over the Meat Tornado, sports and talking about religion was just awesome... I love this show!

When my mom predicted that Leslie and Ben would be a couple in the season premiere and I doubted it would happen, but she was right.

It's so good! Ahh! I love it! Easily my favorite show on TV - I was so disappointed when they cancelled that and my other TV shows: The Sarah Silverman Program and Dimetri Martin's show (my others being South Park and The Office, but those shows aren't as good as they used to be)

uh Parks & Rec isn't canceled... do you mean you were upset when they pushed the premiere to a couple weeks ago as opposed to premiering in the Fall of 2010??

It was funny when Lelsie told Will Forte's charcter that one of the reasons why she did not like "Twilight" was because she was a "Harry Potter" fan.
^ That was my favorite part!!

one thing I love about this show... i love their use of bleeps for cuss words!! it just makes it so much more damn funnier when you hear a bleep... like when Tom was bleeped when he found out there was a second Twilight book!!! haha

Tammy is by far the craziest female character I've ever seen on a sitcom.

P and R gets a nice cover story and article in EW this week. Reminded me how great the show is.
Megan Mullally needs to get a Guest Actress Emmy nod. Same for Nick Offerman whose snub last year remains a huge mystery to me.
I love how childlike Tom acted after getting beaten up by Tammy, especially the look he gave to the camera.
I hate that NBC gave clues to what could be up with April and Andy.
