the scene with Ann, Chris, Tom had me cracking me up! especially the part when they laughed about Mona Lisa's virginity and Henry Winkler was just sitting there!

Wow, this is pretty big.

I think the show has really found its footing again after a season or so of not being as good as it use to be. I was happy to see Jerry Garry Larry and Donna bumped up to series regulars this week.

weren't they always series regulars? they were just never in the opening sequence... i always wondered does one have to be considered a series regular for that?

You're probably right. I'm not quite sure how it works. I was just excited to see them in the credits!

ME TOO!
oh i just had to say I could not stop laughing at Ben sitting on the Game of Thrones Iron Throne! that was hilarious... as was his nerdy response to the new star wars movie and needing a massage... haha
I loved Leslie's starship comment when she was walking up to Ben on the throne. This week's episode was ok... I just feel like the Music festival (that part actually made me cry) is a redux of the Harvest festival and the part with the angry old people has been done a few times on that show (The Elder Picnic).
I love this show but I'm not sure how I feel about the drastic casting changes. I'm starting to lose my suspension of disbelief that they all still work together though.
I feel like Chris Pratt has changed, Andy seems so much different. Maybe it's because he's an A-lister now.
As much as I LOVE Gary, I really feel like they are using him too much for dumb jokes.

Paul Schneider does not want to come back for a guest appearance.
'Parks and Rec': Paul Schneider, a.k.a. Mark Brendanawicz, has no plans to return to Pawnee
Wow! That ending was a total surprise. I like the time jump. It was a fun gag to have Jon Hamm working for Leslie in those 3 years, and we only get to see him being fired. The filming and camera style seemed to change too, and of course the new set. Next season will be interesting!

^ I wasn't expecting the flash forward. It was a surprise. Next season will most likely be the last, but I'm proud of how long it's lasted.

I really liked the idea of the time jump as well. We don't really need to see a whole season of pregnant Leslie, and this really allows them to make some big shifts without having to worry about "how could the character change like that within just a day or two of the show's time" criticisms.

Season 7 will be the last season. I'll be sad when it ends, but I'm very happy with how long the show has lasted.
'Parks and Recreation' to end after season 7
This is a great time to end the show. I'm happy it's going out like this rather than dragging on and on and on until it loses steam. I already thought this season was a bit uneven with some fantastic episodes and some irrelevant ones, but I think between the time jump and knowing this will be its final season, it's gonna have a lot of drive. I hope Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe make an appearance before the end of the show. It does suck we'll have to wait for midseason to see new episodes though, I hate the way NBC has treated the show in terms of scheduling, but yes, very happy they kept it around for so many seasons, I think 7 seasons is pretty spectacular.

I wasn't paying attention to this thread earlier, but so happy to hear that Rachel Dratch is going to be guesting on this final season. Love her.

Thoughts on the finale? I know a lot of people have "future flash-forward" fatigue, but I thought it was a sweet ending to an almost always reliably funny show.
I thought the finale was pretty much perfect.

I've previously admitted to bawling my way through series finales of shows I never watched.
I only dabbled in Parks & Rec but thought the finale was a sweet and humanistic sign-off.

I recently binge-watched the entire show before the start of the seventh season, so I'm absurdly late to the party, but I couldn't have been happier with the finale. One recap of an earlier episode made the point that no series has actively rooted for its characters to succeed as much as this one. That was certainly true in the finale, since everyone ended up having the best version possible of their lives, which was perfect for a show as sweet as this.
Not to mention, the whole thing would be worth it for the phrase "opalescent tree shark."
