It's actually every argument about gay people, anywhere. Because, honestly, what other reason is there to discriminate against gay people except for religious bigotry?
i discriminate against them mostly because i don't like their shoes.
You gotta a problem with open toed pumps?
i said gays, taz, not you. sheesh. like you're gay.
When did Perez Hilton ever claim to be on a Tolerance bandwagon?
tolerance is pretty close to sensitivity which is what he claimed was his problem with her answer, that it was "insensitive."

And who talks about tolerance anymore? Gay people tolerate religious bigotry all the effing time. Many its time for religious bigots to respond in kind.
isn't that pretty much what this thread is doing, phyllis?

Okay so here's the link from the Today Show this morning. Trump is getting exactly what he wanted! In the past few years, his pageants have been a topic of discussion for whatever reason. I would not be surprised if Miss North Carolina wins Miss Universe so that Miss California would become Miss USA. I'm sure Fox News (and CBN) will make her the new poster child but that will be better than Palin and Joe the Plumber! Also, once again I will say, she lost because of the stumbling and misuse of phrases- NOT because of her personal beliefs. If she would have been better prepared (and she should have been with all the controversy about Prop , she would have been able to answer that question more confidently instead of trying to answer it like a pageant queen! Now she will go around and play the victim and personally- I think it's ridiculous that they are all stealing the thunder of the actual winner who scored the highest in evening gown and was pretty close in swimsuit. I have watched many pageants where the final question has dropped the perceived winner on stage. The final question is there to see how well someone does under pressure and obviously California didn't do so well!
Here's my problem(s) with the whole thing. As silly as it is she was running for the title of Miss USA and by running for that title she was in some way, shape or form suppose to represent USA as a whole and not just her views... to me that is why she lost, because she didn't even try to be the least bit politically correct. I believe that she is entitled to her opinion, but I have a huge issue with using her religious views to spread and spew hate. People like her seem to focus on the hate parts of the Bible and not the love parts and it sickness me. Judge not because you are not God and not everybody believes the same thing as you.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofubecause how politically correct you are is the true measure of how good a person you are.
I'm not saying that it measures how good of a person you are, because it defiantly doesn't, all I am saying is that she should have voiced her opinion in a slightly more PC way if she wanted the crown.

Has anyone heard from Miss USA 2009? You know...what's her name....uh....oh hell I dunno...the one that actually won....uh...uh...Miss...Miss....NORTH CAROLINA.
If I was Miss California, I'd be watching my back, cuz there's gonna be one PO'd beauty queen coming after her if she doesn't stop doing the talk show circuit damn quick. These past two days were supposed to be the winner's 15 minutes of fame.
"A whole country of men who won't marry me!"
I'd totally marry you...if I were a guy
"And it kills me that they're always the first to judge!!"
This is a HUGE reason why I walked away from the Catholic church. They're always damning everyone. I believe in God and all but the actual church is not such a good thing IMO. If you don't do exactly what they say then you're going to Hell. I was once at a service where the pastor talked about fake religions. Here I was thinking he was going to talk about cultism but, instead, he started railing against Hindus, Muslims, etc. And this was pre 9/11. Just because a religion isn't YOUR religion doesn't make it wrong. My advice is to be spirtual not religious. There's a huge difference.

The thing is she didn't really share HER opinion. She shared the opinion of her parents. She stated she was raised and taught to believe this. Which says to me that she hasn't actually LEARNED anything. You push a button and get a pre-recorded response. Before she continues on this train maybe she should actually get out and learn something outside the confines of what her parents say.
