Gum poppers....anywhere. (I took the shotgun off the wall.........). And I will!
People who can't lift their finger 2 inches to use a turn signal while they are driving. It's rude and dangerous.

re: Pet Peeves

It really annoys me when people dont't use manners! Is a simple "please" or "thank you" so hard? this kinda goes w/ manners but it also really bugs me when I'm in the car and do something nice for another driver and they don't wave! ggrr!

vbplayer, never move to DC. No one here uses turn signals on the road, especially on the Beltway.

People who crack their knuckles. The sound makes me flinch and feel sick.
People who play their walkman so loud I can hear every word of their (usually bad) music.
People who talk on their cell phone so loud on my bus I feel like I should join in the conversation.

re: Pet Peeves

People who talk on their cell phones on the bus (on my way to work). Can I please start off my day with some peace and quiet and not have to listen to your pathetic conversation (especially since you're not doing anything about keeping your voice down).

Rudeness in general, especially on my train commute to work. Would it kill you to move in and not block the doorways?

I agree w/ the sidewalk hogs.

Slow walkers, slow drivers, people who are late to the theatre and then make me stand up in the middle of the show to let them to their seat...

re: Pet Peeves

Wow, I have a lot of pet peeves and I'm really OCD about some things...I must be hard to live with. I HATE when people chew with their mouth open or just make a lot of noise when they eat; sounds stupid but it bugs the hell out of me. Greatdct, I get annoyed by slow walkers/drivers too. But I also hate when I'm driving and someone is tailgating me (because 80 isn't fast enough for them)...so I usually just take my foot off the gas and let the car slow down to make them even madder...And, I HATE when people move my stuff, especially stuff in my room.

People who treat ToyRUs like a park for their children to run around unsupervised in.

People in line at any store that have been in line for 10 minutes or more, but WAIT until after the cashier has scanned everything and read the total to them before opening their wallet/purse to look for their cash/credit card. And then can't find it.

re: Pet Peeves

OMG, I work at Toys R Us and that happened to me a few days ago. I rang everything up and then the woman realized she didn't have her credit card with her...And, let me just say that there are some really b*tchy people who shop at that store.

Writing "lol" or "hahaha" at the end of your own "funny" post. Pal, if it's funny, we'll laugh on our own. Don't give us the visual equivalent of a laugh track.

And oh god I loathe laugh tracks with every fiber of my being. I can't even listen to a sitcom being played in another room without wanting to hit something.

re: Pet Peeves

When I answer the phone at work and then the other person says, "Hello?" and just sits there. YOU CALLED ME, LOSER!!!

Even better, they say, "Hello?" and when you wait for them to either identify themselves or say why they're calling, they say, "HELLO????" like you're the idiot.

People who ends their sentences in prepositions.

Patients who don't tell me they have new insurance until AFTER I have put their procedure through the computer.

People who don't use a turn signal when switching lanes or turning a corner in their car.

re: Pet Peeves

People who try to get ON the subway/bus/elevator before letting the other people OFF. This goes for doorways too. Let people OUT before you go IN.

When people leave 1/4 inch of coffee in the coffee pot at work, so they don't have to be the one to make a new pot.

People who interrupt me, mid-sentence, while I am speaking.

Idiots who stand in line, say at the coffee place, but don't begin looking at the menu, or thinking about what coffee/muffin/etc. they MIGHT want until they are standing in the front of the line. Then they spend 10 minutes trying to determine what they want (while the line continues to grow behind them).

At airports, when people going through security don't have their shoes off/laptop out/boarding pass ready and have to do this whole song and dance and striptease when they get to the FRONT of the line. Sometimes I want to say - "gee you heard the agent ask the fellow in front of you to take his laptop out, put his shoes in the bin, have his ID and boarding pass ready...why do you think this does not apply to you as well?"

Really, I'm a nice person. I just have a very low tolerance for cluelessness.

Wow! I thought I was a misanthropic ass for thinking most of these things, but I agree with almost everyone!!

And with this rain in nyc...people who walk two abreast WITH UMBRELLAS! I just want to get by, folks...

Subway etiquette is probably my biggest though...and the slow people...and the late people...

OR

People who can't decide what they want at Taco Bell (fill in your own fave)--it's not Le Cirque, people...just get a taco and be on your way...

people who have to be better/more important than you in ANY WAY imaginable. Even in the most pathetic way.

example:

ignoramous: WOW i know what you mean! i have been SO incredibly sick lately! My bad cough and my sore throat and my runny rose and my sprained ankle and my broken elbow and my fractured skull and my....

me: uhm..okay, what is this, a competition?

re: Pet Peeves

- People who noticeably change their personality when certain people are around.

- Incorrect grammar/spelling, especially on the internet.

- This one needs and example; my friend constantly whines about how she does horribly on the quizzes we have in Spanish, but when asked why she didn't study her response is "well, the O.C. was on!"

-not only using a phrase incorrectly, but using it REPEATEDLY. My english teacher says "this concept of" in almost every sentence and it drives me NUTS. Her record is 32 times in a 50 minute class. That is not healthy.

Boobs, I hear you. I dated someone who would say, "it's neither here nor there." I mean, WTF, what is that supposed to mean. He would always use that phrase as a way of not being accountable for anything.
