It's a Western societal thing. Deal with it.
Look, once again- if the mods think that shirtless avs are inappropriate for the 13-year-olds on the board, fine. It's their board and their call. And avs are seen on every thread where a user posts. But honestly, what's the harm in a thread where shirtless guy pictures are posted? No one will be inadverdately offended because if you want to avoid a thread, you can.
At the very least, I'd like to know some kind of standards that determine what is appropriate and what isn't. If you can't come up with written rules (and that would be understandable- the Supreme Court spent something like 15 years trying and failed), at least give warnings and say why certain posts are inappropriate, so mistakes can be deleted by the poster and won't be repeated.
I honestly want to follow the rules here. But I can't seem to figure out what they are.

"I honestly want to follow the rules here. But I can't seem to figure out what they are."
That's because they make them up as they go along. And different rules and standards apply to different people.

It's a mystery. And since entire threads get deleted with no warning and no message afterwards as to what caused it, the same mistakes get made over and over.
You could use it as a pasty with wig tape.....

I was reminded that this post I made in another thread, belongs here as well. J.

No Plum, that's not what I'm saying.
I don't know if you were around at a time when the barechested icons and suggestive pics became excessive. BWW recieved a number of complaints from members about the appearance of the boards. BWW decided that all shirtless icons, and anything else it deemed inappropriate, would go. Barechested men in sexually suggestive poses; men with bulging crotches, and erections; bare asses; exposed pubic hairlines--these are just some examples of the pics favored as icons in the past, or posted in threads.
That being said, there are some barechested pics are not inappropriate. CABARET's Emcee, for example. A theatre costume last time I checked. Someone else's bareched Taye Diggs, is non suggestive and not inappropriate.
We had a poster, some of you are aware of this, who, to his great delight and glee, announced how he wanted to test limits and posted male nudes in a thread. (Purposefully, in the wee hours of the moring, after he knew I was off line. Sad, pathetic, but true.) This, I'm sorry to say is someone who chronologically is an adult, but who continues to demonstrates otherwise.
Thus, the simplier solution for BWW management is to NOT allow any icons or pics, or posts themselves for that matter, which BWW deems inappropriate.
It's like a dress code, I suppose. We've all encountered that at some point in life.
If you find yourself asking, "is this pic appropriate," then it probably isn't. If you're questioning yourself then it probably doesn't belong. If you don't want to risk having it deleted, don't post it. If you want to take the risk, post it, but if it gets deleted, accept the fact that BWW found it inappropriate.
Oye.

Hooray for cut and paste!
I was there, and I understood why the first "muy angry" and the "Speedos" thread, among others, ended up being deleted. However, I completely didn't understand why the second "muy angry" was deleted, since we were careful to include only photos that had stayed up for months in the first thread.

Obviously there's a lot of miscommunication going on here- I'm asking for a dress code. I don't want the right to post porn here. But when we tried to keep the second "muy angry" thread safe by relying on precedent, it got deleted anyway. That's why I'm frustrated here.
And it's "oy," not "oye." Just for future reference. :)

And as such, this post belongs here as well.
Jose', I've said it before and I'll say it again, I find you to be the most "inappropriate" thing around here. And please stop referring to me indirectly. The only thing that's sad and pathetic is the way that you continually misuse and abuse your authority and provoke discord. You're a classic example of someone who's been given an inch, and as a result, fancy's them self a ruler.
Nicely put, Curtainup2.
Jose's explanation of why the Emcee and Taye Diggs are allowed made his case look even worse - he wasn't able to give real answers.
Jose: I have some picture from OH CALCUTTA that I would like to use as an avatar...however, we know what the costume design was like for that show. According to your rules, I can still use it, because it's a costume design. Wouldn't you say?

Well, Plumsie, ya got me there! I'll remember that spelling.
Oh, and a reminder that I am not the only one who is able to delete. I know some folks love to believe that it's all me, but it's not. So, for the vanishing "muy angry" thread 2, I've no idea. Perhaps BWW didn't want a repeat of the first one.
J.
Well said Beav. Isn't it interesting how Rob and Craig have probably deleted more posts and threads than Jose', but there isn't anywhere near the same level of hostility and resentment toward them as there is toward him. Now I wonder why that is?

Actually, now that you mention it....maybe someone can answer this for me.
I was browsing the musical section of Virgin last night, and came across a few copies of OH CALCUTTA. It says on the front "the original." Does anyone know if it was taped on Broadway and just released on TV? It doesn't say on the back, and there are no pictures - it's poorly packaged and looks like a porn, but that doesn't mean much.
my shirtless icon hasntr ben eraced yet ! :)

I love that picture of John Tartaglia...it makes me sweaty.
How adorable! (albeit, a little risque)
