Phoebe Cates! Total 80's teen goddess. FAST TIMES solidified her place in 1980's pop culture. GREMLINS gave her mainstream success. LACE put her over the top but at the same time almost killed her career, it's the VALLEY OF THE DOLLS of the '80s.

...and has anyone seen her in the blatant BLUE LAGOON rip off, PARADISE opposite Willie Aames? I'm surprised she got any work after that.

She is quite good in the title role in the 1994 film PRINCESS CARABOO. I think it was her last major film role. Jim Broadbent, Kevin Kline, John Lithgow, and Stephen Rea are her co-stars.

No, because it wasn't just implied or done for laughs (i.e. Justin Whalin in Serial Mom, but Whalin was 19).
