It has a 54% (which is bad) at rottentomatoes.com

I LOVED the first one but the second one was a big bore, so I am going to wait 'till dvd to see it.

"anyone who sees this film is a pox upon humanity."

WTF and why?

I'm actually looking forward to seeing Pirates 3 on Sunday, it looks really good. I really enjoyed the first two, even though some moments in the second seemed a bit dark like the bird picking out a person's eye, the necklace of toes, etc.

I saw it at 8 as well. I loved it.

worrell: This one is even darker than the 2nd. I was really surprised by some of it.

My thoughts exactly. I have no interest in seeing this one, even though I probably will.

I loved it! It's the best movie I've seen yet this summer. Did anyone stay to watch the last scene after the credits??

BTW I loved Keith Richards too!

For real Cruel, 'the hell.
I mean like,
did a Pirate rape & transmit syphillis to your great great great grandmother who then only found solice in the fact that a kindly, pre-Nazi nazi supported and loved her & her basterd-child or something?

Cruel, just cause it's your screen name doesn't mean you have to live up to it.

I couldn't even begin to describe the sheer wonder I thought that movie was. Amazing. Topped all three, if you ask me. It was dark, it was violent, and it was awesome. I was surprised at a couple things though: How short of a time Sao Feng was in it... The amount of connections to the first movie... The graphic-ness... and Keith Richards being AWESOME.

But, being the loser I am, I completely forgot to stay for the clip after the credits. My friend stayed and told me a little, but I think I want to see for myself. I'm probably going back within the next 48 hours, anyway.

Is it bad that I laughed more and harder during Pirates then I did during Shrek 3 and The Ex put together, considering the latter are comedies?

I LOVE the Pirate movies, but there's one thing I don't care about the second and third movies: they go on forever and it seems like every 5 minutes they try throwing in a new storyline that you need to follow. The first one was much easier to follow because they didn't really do it.

But yea, I loved this one. I'm satisfied with the ending... which kind of surprises me that it went that way (not giving anything away here), but I loved the route they took.

I'm looking forward to seeing it this weekend. But then, I loved the second film. I liked it the first time I saw it, but enjoyed it even more the second time. I didn't find it boring in the least.

I love how the critics' main issues with the film are the length of the film and the convoluted plot, yet they didn't take issue with those exact same points with the third Lord of the Rings film, which was longer and (in my opinion) MUCH more convoluted, yet it goes on to win Best Picture (probably just for being produced at all). I fell asleep in the second and third Lord of the Rings films and I gave up on the plot in the first one. I just went because my boyfriend wanted to see them.

Although I love the whole trilogy...

"Dead Man's Chest" is the equivalent of "The Empire Strikes Back" in Star Wars. It serves to set up everything that will happen in the last film.

I felt "Dead Man's Chest" was much too long and had many awkward spots. It felt like filler, albeit fun filler. But there were times when I was just bored.

From the minute "At World's End" began...I was hooked. I saw an 11:20pm showing yesterday and I was sick to boot. So the odds of my staying awake were not good.

But, man did it ever capture me. Every second is filled with action. There are no dead spots. The acting is the best yet. Geoffrey Rush needs to get an Oscar nom for featured actor. (Yes, it's very early to say this but it was his best Barbossa yet and he's a just genius actor...period.)

There are many twists and turns in "At World's End"...the conclusion is something that I would never have guessed. It may dissapoint some, but I found it quite beautiful. Verbinski does a fine job of taking the audience on the journey and keeping them in the dark about how things will wind up.

The effects are the best of the trilogy and they completely leave it open for a fourth enstallment.

Well, I haven't seen it yet...

...but I do take issue with FOAnatic's parallel drawn to "The Empire Strikes Back," which did NOT suffer from any Middle Movie Syndrome, as did, say, "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers."

Many feel Empire is the BEST of the original Star Wars trilogy (or of the entire saga), and either way, it's definitely a movie that stands on its own two feet.

So there!

A few people here went to Pirates 3 yesterday, and said it was "a lot of fun."
