"drudge a member of the mccain campaign?"
I don't really know what Drudge is feeling these days. I've seen a ton of pro-Obama stuff on that page for months now.
There is certainly still bias with their headlines but I think "they" are really conflicted. Much like Fox News is. It must be getting really hard to defend gaff after gaff of John McCain and fake support of a candidate that the party has hated for years. Or field contradicting talking points that now seem to hit the wire by the hour. It's very hard to stay partisan when both parties are failing their constituents on so many levels.
* P.S.
Fox in particular needs to be looking at their bottom line. I'm not sure how their business model works when they actually grate against an administration.

Like it's gonna be Gwen's fault when Palin gives a completely nonsensical answer.

To be fair and balanced they should have chosen Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity to do the debate. After all, as they noted in the discussion, all the MSM leans left.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 1:10pmAll this spin is only for the pundits anyway. The public will make up its mind on its own. Case in point - the pundits gave the presidential debate to McCain, scoring it like a prize fight and awarding it to him on points. The public, however, saw it very differently.

My side?
My answer to that is too complex to want to open it here.
As for the other, they are exploiting a loophole in law that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Humans create their own problems and there is no justification for what is going on in Alaska in this regard.
No matter who wins this campaign, the issue will still stand and that loophole must be closed. You can count on me to be working on it either way.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 1:24pmIf we assume that the majority of the VP debate viewers will be folks who also watched last week's debate, I would expect that they will be looking for the same things. Competence, particularly in the economy, fluency in foreign affaris, confidence, and presidential authority. I expect the audience will want to see the same from Palin & Biden, regardless of any spin from the pundits.

It's very interesting to think back to the Democratic debates when Biden cleaned the floor with Clinton, Edwards, Obama. I think debating is one of Biden's best attributes this is going to be quite a show.
I am so playing "lingo."

The pro-Obama headlines on Drudge stopped when Clinton was defeated. I don't think he was ever really "for" Obama, just against Clinton. He has always hated both Clintons.
Interestingly, he's not really "for" McCain either, with links like "McCain turns irritable, sarcastic in interview..."--not like he was always enthusiastically pro-Bush/Cheney.
He's just anti-Democrat. And closeted.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 2:11pmTo be fair (which goes against my nature), there have also been several stories floating around about how well Palin did in the Alaskan gubernatorial debate, and how she might be underrated as a debater. So, I guess the spin works both ways.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 2:17pmthat's not fair, mb. her opponent in the alaska debate was a wolf who she had shot from a hovering helicopter one minute into the debate and proceeded to skin onstage.
