OK - finally watched it on the DVR (it was tough staying out of this thread yesterday!).
I didn't like Kevin's dress, but Ricky CLEARLY should have been the one to go. That dress looked like cotton candy with a belt of seashells. It had no movement - and the way it was gathered at the bottom made it look like the girl had pooped or something.
I will miss Kevin. In his prom picture, he looked a lot like my prom date, actually!
Christian had a bad dress (but not the worst), but also had the most abysmal client. I kind of felt bad for him. That girl was a nightmare.
On to the good. My favorites were Sweet P, VYctYrYa, and Chris. Sweet P's was gorgeous -- the color looked great on her client's skin tone too. But I agree with VYctYrYa's win. Her dress was appropriate for a prom - fun, young, sassy, current. Plus I think she had an edge with the big jewels -- which are very in right now (not to mention, appearing on some of the Kors designs I recently saw in the MK boutique, so perhaps the Great Orange One felt flattered as well).
When I saw Ricky crying after he DIDN'T get eliminated, I had to roll my eyes. That kid cries over everything...

...this episode has been brought to you by the letter Y!
I know it's not nice poke fun at her name (and add an extra Y that didn't exist previously), but the trend in naming to replace every vowel with a Y is something I've always found perplexing! And it just begs to be pointed out.
Sincerely,
pYch
I thought all the dresses were pretty mediocre. After the invigorating candy challenge, I was hoping for more.

"I dislike these design for a "normal" person challenges."
I'm with you on this. Although the prom dress challenge wasn't as bad as when they had to design for the other contestant's moms last year (what an awful challenge...it was the only time I genuinely felt sorry for Jeffrey), it was still on the boring side.
And another super model wannabe gets aufed without having worked. It sucks!
Why so much camera time with Ricky? Calling his mom, what did that have to do with the show?
It better mean the producers just want to show him being emotional (cause that's what hes known for), and not that he makes it to the final, 'cause I'll scream.
What do the judges see in him, that America does not?

He's the only one providing "good" tv this season.
Well, I know that when I thought back on past seasons, my first thought was, "What is missing from this show? More crying! If only there were more crying, then this would be a truly great television experience." I'm so glad this has now been remedied.

No way! Ricky's crying is nothing compared to Andre's crying and emotional outbursts! Yet Andre was really talented and loveable. You can catch some of it here:

Was Andre on this season?
More obnoxious crying, then.
Stephen tended to get misty. Given more time, I think he could have given Ricky a run for his tears.

I didn't think so. There has been more drama in all the other seasons compared to this one. That's why I say they're keeping weepy on.
Christian has a slight issue also, but I don't think it's providing enough drama to get rid of weepy that fast. LOL!
I can't remember, but how much of the winning design in Victoria's dress was actually Christian's idea? Didn't he tell her to change her original concept and gave her suggestions?
They should design a reality TV show where viewers can randomly call in and say stuff to the contestants. So like, if Ricky started crying, we could call in and start making him feel bad about himself--like make fun of him and his clothes, and make him cry even harder. And we could all do it. We could get people from around the country to call in and just rag on him.
That would be awesome.
Did anyone hate Victoriya's (sp?) dress? It looked like a summer dresss with tacky stained glass.
I think with all that lace, Christian basically made a Betsey Johnson-style dress.
I wish Sweet P won!
i absolutely hated Victorya's dress.... mostly because I have seen that exact neckline in about 16 other prom dresses...
I was rooting for Chris for the win, I thought he had the most well put together garment...
I thought Chris should have been in the top, if not the winner as well. He has really stepped up his game since he got the boot. I liked Sweat P's dress over Victoria- and she came up with the design all on her own.
Hey!! I hope this hasn't been discussed; I searched. Does anyone know where Tim's podcast?

Hi Pinky. There's a podcast you can subscribe to (for free) on iTunes.
On now! I'm actually ridiiiiculously excited for this challenge, if not the team interaction.
I like how we literally haven't gotten a SINGLE full-on shot of any of the avant-garde looks.
Anyway, using RICKY for the obligatory gratuitous early morning shirtless shot? Major downgrade. I miss Kevin.
