Reading? What's that?

I am looking for a really good book to get at the library today. What are some books that you enjoyed reading?

I am obsessed with The Awakening by Kate Chopin. It is wonderful!

I also just read Borrowed Time: An AIDS memior by Paul Monette. I absolutly loved it, but I must warn you that is really heartbreaking. I literally sobbed for an hour after I finished reading it.

One of my all time favourite books is I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. Well worth checking out. As is How Long Has This Been Going On? by Ethan Mordden.

PETER AND WENDY by James Matthew Barrie.

If you think you know PETER PAN - read the book.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

If you haven't already read the DaVinci code, do it. Actually, block out an entire day to read it. I couldn't put it down. Other- The Lovely Bones, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, The Godfather, Angels and Demons, Wicked. I will probably think of more later.

Ohmagosh, yes The Lovely Bones. But only if you're feeling very strong and probably best not to read it in public. I was bursting into tears every 4 pages or so and there is one part of the book in particular that whenever I tell people about it, I cry.

If you're feeling REALLY strong, check out her memoir, Lucky. It's incredible.

Yes, The Lovely Bones is a toughie. If you can get through it, it's amazing. I was going to read Lucky, but my dad advised me not to. He's sort of controlling like that.

Ooh, I'll second the reccomendation of The Handmaid's Tale- it's wonderful. Just great. And keep in mind that the handmaids' outfits were inspired by burkas. re: Reading? What's that?
