Posted: 12/5/06 at 4:36pmIf more celebrities actually came out, maybe he wouldn't be a big deal in the media. Is he doing a lot of fundraising for someone? That's usually why they give awards.

Everyone here KNEW he was gay before he 'came out'...
And Namo's right. He should give that award back.

okay...busted on the number of pages...ya cant tell how many while responding.
lets say you were harping and you and sueleen were ganging up on Rath because of who she's related to...and it was getting mean, weird and childish.
Reichen is not the perfect gay man...we get it.

Unfortunately, Reichen is becoming the [insert name of starlet-du-jour here] of the gay community. The butt of so many jokes... and for milking his 15 minutes of fame for what they were worth. It's a puzzle to me how someone who wins a tv game show is still a topic of conversation.
Should he be spared the Jessica Simpson, et. al., treatment simply because he's gay?
Plus... we all can make fun of him as much as we want. He's probably brushing it off all the way to the bank.

Exactly, DD, and until Reichen admitted to "incorporating" other gay military members' stories into his autobiography and to claiming their experiences as his own, mostly my disappointment was for the members of the gay community who are actually taken in by the "Ohmigod it's Reichen from Amazing Race! Give him an award!" mania.
Once he did that, however, I realized that the manipulation was even more calculated than I'd imagined.
As for your criticisms, doodle, I have been absolutely consistent in my assessments of Reichen and have been since he became a personality, and I have contributed in an ON TOPIC way to threads that other people have started about him. It is not in any way associated with the posts made by the artist known as Sueleen and therefore any "ganging up" is a link that you are drawing that is not in actuality there.

depends on what you definition of "is" is.
and the HRC award, if it has to reflect poorly on any party, should reflect poorly on the organization, not the recipient.

Posted: 12/5/06 at 5:25pmI can attest to the fact that the HRC Dinners are an unorganized mess...

Posted: 12/5/06 at 5:34pmNot all of them Diva. The Philadelphia annual dinner is quite a nice affair and well done. Although much depends on the years co-chairs.

Posted: 12/5/06 at 10:06pmAs a matter of fact, RobbO, I have made clear how much I detest HRC on this board even longer than Reichen has been a minor personality. Therefore it was a perfect moment of synergy when that organization gave that creature an award at one of their masturbation parties. Excuse me, dinners. Dislike them both. Made for each other. Disappointed in those fooled by either.
