I agree with CATSNYrevival. Sounds like he is pushing his book. Sean Hayes is in a Broadway show,but I think it would have been great if he came out when he was on a hit show. Same with David Hyde Pierce.I applaud them for coming out but they do it when it's safe or when they are not as popular.
However, there are rare exceptions.George Takei is more popular now than ever.His SHARP TV commercials are hilarious and he is finding more work now than ever. Not sure if there is any truth to it but I heard on the radio Priceline want George to start doing their ads.So, people like George and Neil Patrick Harris have found coming out does not hurt their careers at all.
I guess everyone has to come out on their own terms.
