I just turned it on.
Gosh, is Celine amazing.
I'm watching it now on my DVR! Happy Holidays!
Ugh. Had to walk through it to get home from work. Damn tourists. Bah humbug.
Makes me happy the writer's strike is on so I don't have to go into that area to go to work! I despise working at 30 Rock during this time of year!
PalJoey and Snafu- wish I could have met you when I was in NY last week. I was staying at the Sheraton NY on 7th and 53rd! What a great location that was! mom
Mom, would have loved to meet you! I was up in that area, though not as much as when the writers aren't striking! Hope your visit was all that and a doughnut too !
My trip was all that and a knish! Do you mind me asking what you do at 30 Rock? mom
I'm going to check out the tree this morning. All three of my dentists are in Rockefeller Center and with the trouble I've been having in my mouth, I'm there almost every day.

This was the tree at about noon today, for anyone who's not going to see it in person!

Closeup.

My friends and I walked by last night a bit after 11 and were pleasantly surprised by the smaller lights and the general "blueness" of the tree. It looks beautiful and a lot less fluorescent than usual. We were trying to take pictures of it after having hailed a cab and it turned off (at around 11:35) just as my friend figured out the camera she was using. It was sad. HAHA. I love those collective crowd groans.
I LOVE the color scheme of the lights this year! Mostly blue and red with a little yellow thrown in! I even liked it during the day today, before the lights were turned on.
Thanks mom! This tree looks better than the ones they've had in the past-at least during the day. I don't dare venture near there at night!
Yes, they picked a great tree this year. For the past couple of years, the tree has had too many sparse spots and hasn't looked as grand as in years past.
Actually, I was referring to the color of the lights, mc, but now that you mention it, you're right. This tree is nice and firm and fully packed!

The tree's from my town. <3 It's wonderful.
What town is that, Rogue?
Can't wait to see it on Wednesday when I get there. I have never seen it lit at night. I am pretty excited.
What did y'all think of the performers this year?
Miley and the Jonas brothers were not good, do they digitally enhance their cds big time, or do kids really like their voices? Not sure what Rosie was doing? She just seemed so out of place.
I thought David Cook did a good job on both of his songs.
Do y'all like Beyonce's version of Ave Maria?

sesot- I liked the fact that it seemed that everyone was singing live. I'm not a big fan of Beyonce but I thought she did a good job and she looked absolutely beautiful! I loved the makeup job! As far as Miley and the Jonas Brothers- I am glad they didn't lip sync but it also proved that neither are very good singers. The appeal to the kids is that their songs have no range and aren't hard to sing. Every kid feels like they could be Miley or the JB. I always like David Cook and I would have loved to see Jane sing more- she is an AMAZING talent. Overall- I enjoyed watching!
This years tree is from Hamilton, New Jersey just outside of Trenton.

A few comments on last nights tree lighting;
The shameless plug from Jamie Foxx for his upcoming cd was pathetic. I thought his performance was good, but that kinda ruined it for me.
Rosie's Broadway kids were fun, but she should stay off the stage, and just let them have the spotlight!
I agree about the teen acts; nice to perform live, but none of them can really sing that well.
Kiril Kulish was so nervously-cute in his little intro piece.
LOVED Rascall Flatts, Harry Connick Jr, David Cook, Faith Hill and just the whole feel of it all
HATED all the teen "talents"
The tree is GORGEOUS this year
