i think the pictures are great, thats the real reality, they are not airbrushed or made to look like Jim Morrison... though i think it looks more like adam sanburg. they serve to tell the rest of the story that TigerBeat, i mean Rolling Stone does not

To me, all the young girls are in love with the guy anyway.
secondly,If a guy that looked like him stood next to you on the train, would you see something and say something? Thats the whole point, its not glamorizing him, its saying someone that looks a kid you'd see in the park, it a freaking terrorist and isn't wearing camoflauge or Arab headgear.

I mean, duh. It's sad that their excuse for doing this money making scheme is such a weak and obvious point.

The police officer released the wrong pictures to make the point he was trying to make.
Google Image "Bloody Tsarnaev" and you will see there are truly disgusting photos of the Tsarnaev brothers, particularly the dead Tsarnaev, with blood oozing out of them and bullet holes and gashes. Totally gross. Totally not glamorous.
What this policeman did unwittingly is more of what Rolling Stone did, which is mythologize a victim status for one or both of the brothers.
Good journalism is remarkably hard. Making the opposite of an intended point in a tasteless manner is remarkably easy.

I don't understand the outrage, and I don't think RS was glamorizing the terrorist.

I'm pretty much filled with hatred toward that criminal and I can't muster up anything but disgust that he's gracing the cover of that magazine.

It's Judge Jeanine Pirro and it's Fox News, but here's a wildly theatrical 10-minute rant against the editors of Rolling Stone, our "coddling-culture," Dzokhar and his mother.
'Dzhokhar, you’re not the one in pain. You’re not a rock star, you’re not a cover boy, you’re a damn terrorist, the spawn of Satan who should go directly to Hell sooner rather than later.'

I take it the good judge and the producers of Fox News make no claims to be followers of Christianity?

There's a change.org petition "challenging" RS to donate profits from the August, 2013 issue to victims of the bombing.

Doesn't Rolling Stone hemorrhage money like most publications?
