As I was reading this thread and associated stories I kept thinking to myself - why are we infatuated with Rosie? Although she is famous - she is still a human being not immune to anything that non-famous people do smart/stupid. I don't personally know Rosie but commenting on Rosie the non-famous, crafty, pot smoking, Madonna loving, no makeup, tight clothes wearing person...she sounds just like most other mothers who care for her child and only want the best while their entitled little pricks are embarrassed by their parent. If pot smoking happens to be the biggest issue because it is "illegal" - I actually have bigger issues with the mothers who have the wine glasses filled on a daily basis as well. SO what. If you live in a glass house then be careful if you throw stones!

Why does everyone keep saying Chelsea is entitled? What has she said that gives that impression?

Again, I don't see why people keep calling her entitled. And - considering the public spectacle Rosie has been since her first disastrous stint on The View - I find it hard to understand why so many people are so quick to believe the blame lies squarely with Chelsea.

Sure, the bicycle shorts thing sounds ridiculous, because I guess I just thought it was part of the picture she was painting of someone who really checks out when she's not "on" and in public. That's kind of what I thought she was getting at with the public persona vs home persona thing - not the shocking and unprecedented fact that people are different at home than they are in public, but that the public Rosie (especially the one Rosie fronted to be during her daytime talk show in the 90s) is a complete 180 from what they see at home.

Not to mention the "My mentally ill daughter is missing!" shtick. If the extent of Chelsea's mental illness is depression and anxiety, as she has claimed, I can see how that would have stuck in craw. I don't mean to wade into unsympathetic territory, but Rosie's cries of her "mentally ill!" daughter missing seemed to imply more than your standard depression and anxiety, something that millions of people deal with daily. Rosie seemed to be implying psychosis or schizophrenia or something, or at the very least had to know that "mentally ill!" would suggest something beyond run of the mill anxiety and depression, like whatever kind of mental illness Rosie herself seems to have been exhibiting for at least the past decade.

And I kind of believe the story that Rosie threw her out.

I mean, sure, Rosie's got money and Chelsea probably wanted for little in that regard, but keeping your kids clothed and fed and whatevered aren't an automatic pass to be an asshole. They may not share genetics, but Rosie raised that child. Even if she is an entitled monster - and again, she just doesn't come off that way to me - that didn't happen in a vacuum.

^That right there. Momma's roof...momma's rules. Hopefully, Chelsea will take her newfound freedom and make something of her life under her own steam. Everybody's got a story. I didn't have the most wholesome upbringing but I'm not about to put the family business out for public consumption.

Entitled may be the wrong word. Privileged might better fit the situation. No, it isn't all Chelsea's fault, it is both of them in their dysfunctional tango.

That entitled brat Chelsea is at it again! This time she forced Rosie to talk about her on stage during her act!

Maybe she is just off her meds.

Ugh, what is up with her and that grimace of hers? It looks like she's constipated or trying to pass a stone.

This night with Rosie sounds like a recipe for disaster.
