Rosie O'Donnell has always struck me as false. Even her smile is phony - - - take a look at any one picture of her "smiling" and it looks forced and it's bordering on a grimace. Here's an example:

Meh. It sounds like she and Rosie never bonded and Rosie did some of her typical weird overreacting with the social media stuff. On the other hand...most of it reads like... "Yeah home was alright. We played a lot of Scrabble. Mom liked to go to her weird other house and blast Madonna and do crafts--oh but we were allowed to hang out there too. She smoked a lot of pot--oh but never around us..."
Even The Guardian should be embarrassed to print accusations ok the shocking fact she doesn't wear makeup at home.

There was really nothing in that long belabored article that was eye opening, or even bad. Rosie smokes weed at home, but not in front of the kids...where is the shock or harm in that? Rosie has two personas, her at home one and her public one. I have not yet met one well known celebrity who didn't. Rosie had Nannies to take care of her kids. My building is FILLED with successful working parents who have one or 2 nannies for each of their kids. A self absorbed narcissistic teenager? Give me a list of those who aren't, will save paper.

I don't doubt the home was dysfunctional, but it's pretty sh!tty of the article to say she wears spandex shorts and t-shirts or that she doesn't wear makeup like either is a horrible thing. This isn't the 50s. Moms don't get up, paint their faces, put on a dress and vacuum the house. I don't know of many moms who get dolled up if they don't have to leave the house.

^Rosie has continuously denied they are together on her blog. And she's usually pretty open about things, so I don't think they are together.
Regardless she's had a pretty ****ty couple of months.
1) Drama with daughter
2) Daughter sells her out to a tabloid
3) Father dies
4) Estranged wife tries to commit suicide

Except the mother put a roof over the daughter's head as well as fed and clothed her since the adoption. It's been suggested that gratitude is the mother of all virtues. Moving on...
By all appearances, there's a lot of hurt on both ends of the exchange. Rosie has always been rumored to be a piece of work but I'm not into mommy-and-daddy-shaming in the tabloids. I hope that the young lady and her birth mom strengthen their bond and develop a wholesome relationship. Seems that there have been some missed opportunities for Rosie and her. Perhaps she could benefit from some good motherly advice as she navigates the situation with the boyfriend and his parents.
Does anyone know what she does for a living currently?

Thank-you javero. Not only keeping a roof over her head, fed and dressed her probably better then her birth mother could ever be able to do. The child has had perhaps more opportunities offered her then any of us had. I know this does not replace a good parent / child relationship. however, the way the article reads it sounds like an overly indugled teenager having a hissy fit.
