Anjilly, wow...I would love to have coffee with you and Stephen. I have thought about a lot of that as well. I love speculating on what will happen and I do think that life as a muggle will be worse than death for Voldemort. Do we know of any spells yet that will strip a wizard of their powers?

There was brief mention by Dumbledore about wizards losing powers after serious emotional trauma when he and Harry were discussing Merope et al.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Perhaps knowing that Harry isn't "the one" and that it was Neville he was supposed to be after could be enough of a trauma to do that? I mean, imagine all of your life's work has been for nothing? Who knows...

me and a friend were having a bigtime discussion on this. and basically it came down to a surprisingly obvious ending...

voldemort and harry have to die together because voldemort "lives" in harry or however people say it nowadays. it's already been said in the books that its true. and neville is "the one" according to the prophecy, so therefore it could possibly end with harry killing voldemort which would therefore bring him close to death and then neville would have to kill harry/voldy to complete the prophecy.

But it's already been discussed ad nauseum that Neville is NOT the one. Voldemort chose Harry to be the one.

I agree that Neville will play a more significant role in the final book, but don't think he's going to be the one.

Neville is not going to be magically revealed as the REAL Chosen One. Voldemort, in fact, CHOSE Harry. Neville's entirely out of hte picture as far as the prophecy is concerned. However, I do love Neville, and think that he will have a very important role (another thing which JKR has confirmed).
