Bal, I think that that gleam was because Dumbledore knew that that had to occur for Harry to be able to grow into his own and to be forced to stand up for himself. He couldn't keep turning to Dumbledore for support- Harry now has to be the one in control.

The gleam, if i'm not mistaken, was after Harry told Dumbledore about saving Pettigrew's life. I think he knows about the life debt that Pettigrew owes Harry and knows how important that will be in the final battle. That's how I took it...

Wasn't there another gleam right before Dumbledore was ______? (Left blank for those who haven't read it yet)

I don't remember, but then again Dumbledore never feared death he always saw it as the next great adventure, so if there was perhaps it's because of that? Dumbledore get's a lot of gleams lol

Dumbledore is amazing..I have a theory about him that is odd, but still one I can't shake. If you're interested PM me.

I love all the ideas that everyone has because with Jo's intricate plot any of them could be possible. I think Neville is REALLY gonna come into his own. When his wand broke (remember it was a relatives) in the D.O.M I really thought that when he got his own he would be kicking butt in what he did, but maybe that will turn up in the 7th book. I doubt he will kill Bellatrix, because he is such a kind person, but I do think she is going to have to pay for what she has done.

As for who dies, I am sure one of the Weasley's will. I love them, but there are so many! Bill was already mauled by Greyback, but I think Percy is next.

Snape..if he is in fact a baddie I would be happy his character dies, but deep down I feel he is one of the good guys.

aaannnd I really want to know more about RAB, whom I obviously suspect to be Regulus Black.

Jo has all but said that RAB is Regulas so it's a pretty safe assumption re: Rowling says 2 characters die in final Potter book

I don't think Neville will kill either, but I do think he will have the opportunity and just choose to be the bigger person. The wand was his dads and that's why he wasn't as strong with it, but he has his own now, and I think he'll do well with it, I think it's something that'll be showin in the 7th book. I love Neville and want him to have a big role to play in the 7th book.

I too think if a Weasley has to die it'll be Percy, mostly because if any of the others died I would be heartbroken, i'd be sad if Percy died, but not as devestated as I would be for the other ones. All I know is the second I get the book I'm not leaving my house or going online or doing anything but read straight through because I don't want to risk being spoiled and I know if I let myself go online I'll intentionally spoil myself, I'm just that way. haha.

I wish we'd get a definate release date. 7/7/07 would be cool, but since she hasn't even finished the book yet, we'll have to wait and see if that's possible. I also worry about it being so close to the movie released date, it would be Pottermania to the extreeme.

I like the idea of Pottermania to the extreme. If its going to be "over" I want it to go out with a big bang. RAB is almost assuredly Regulus. I think that Percy will sacrifice himself for his family. He has been a total idiot and horrible towards them and I hope that he comes to his senses sooner rather than later.

Neville has always been compared to his parents thanks to his grandmother. That wand hasn't helped him much. I think with a wand of his own he will do much better.

Static, I'm with you. I will have to avoid all forms of media until I'm through with the book. I do not want it to be spoiled for me, but I am too curious not too look if I see it online. I'm silly like that.

haha I'll be the same way, if any spoilers come out ahead of time, then I'll look and indulge myself, because those spoilers could or could not be true...but after I have that book in my hands or rather about midnight on the day of release I will shut down my laptop and my tv and radio and everything and just read...I'm not sure if i'm gonna go out at midnight because I heard with the book release last year someone flipped through the book and shouted out who died and who killed him to the HP fans waiting to buy the book, and I really don't want someone to do that and you know they will...so I think I'm gonna preorder on Amazon, because they guarentee that the book will be delivered on the day of release, so I'd rather do that :) And then sit and read for however long it take me too. I'm hoping it'll be on a Saturday so I have the whole weekend to myself to just curl up on the couch and read non stop.

I'm kinda wishing someone would release the PDF file early, but I know last year there were a ton of fakes, so I don't want to fall into that trap. I didn't read HBP til a month or so after it was released because everyone hyped it so much so I decided to read the series and I did and then I read it again and again and now I have the audio books and listen to them at work all the time haha. I'm such a dork when it comes to HP though re: Rowling says 2 characters die in final Potter book

As long as Neville and Remus make it through book 7 I'll be ok though, if either dies I will be in mourning for months...i'll be heartbroken if a lot of others die, but those two, would devistate me to no end, I'd be more worse off than I was with Sirius.

My Potter love is insane, and I will completely isolate myself as well. I don't even go to the book store to get the books. I make someone else get them because of my fear of spoilers.

I really hope Fawkes has some part in the last book. I know, lame. I was sobbing at the end of the "Phoenix Song" or "Phoenix Lament" (something like that) chapter in HBP.

I would say yeah, but Jo has said that once she kills off a character they are dead...but I do think he'll play a role, at least his memory, I'm thinking he left something behind for Harry...

gah this is going to be a frustrating year or more!!

There's always the portrait of Dumbledore in the headmaster's office. However, Harry has said he isn't going to be back at Hogwarts, but I really hope he does go back for a little bit.

though the portrait isn't really him per se it's more like an image of him that may have some of the same memories and personality, but I don't think it'll be anywhere near the same person as Dumbledore. I can see Harry going back there for advice and help and realizing this and getting so frustrated and let down and feeling like all hope is lost.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the portraits, the figures inside seem to have feelings and useful thoughts. I wanna know what the deal is with them and hopefully that is answered in the 7th book.

I always wanted to know how the wizards invent spells... anyone else?

she's said she was going to explain portraits and ghosts I think, but we'll find out i guess when the book is released?

Have ya'll read the MuggleNet/Leaky-Cauldren Interview with Jo? It's very interesting and leads to some good insights on book 6 and 7.

I acctually haven't read any of those sites since right after book 6. I'm a bad potter fan. I've been putting more focus on BWW and school. re: Rowling says 2 characters die in final Potter book

Dumbledore had a gleam in his eye (or was it a look of satisfaction?) when Harry revealed that Voldemort had used Harry's blood to rejuvinate his body in GoF.

I don't think Dumbledore's truly gone, given his speech to Malfoy about having ways to hide him even better than death could, along with his mother and father, in HBP.

ok if Dumbledore is not dead then how is there his portrait in the school? They are only for headmasters that have died...so I don't see how Dumbledore could be alive if there is a portrait that appeared right after his death...I really think he's gone guys. I think he'll have left something behind, maybe a memory in the pensive or something, but Harry ultimately has to face Voldemort alone and stand on his own two feet, and he can't do that if Dumbledore has his back...same with why Sirius had to go, but I think we'll see some form of him again too maybe a ghost or maybe a whisper beyond the veil or something.

That was an interesting article. I think that Lucius was probably in Godric's Hollow the night of the murders. He seems to know a little too much.

Isn’t Dumbledore’s brother around somewhere as well. Do you think that maybe he will have something of Dumbledore’s to give Harry?
