Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: "You Can't Act"

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix star Rupert Grint has ruled out moving to Los Angeles to boost his movie career - in fear of meeting party girls Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. The 19-year-old actor isn't keen on moving to Hollywood after a fraught meeting with the Mean Girls star left him disappointed by her egotistical boasts. And the British star has no intention to hook up with Lohan's former party pal Paris Hilton either. He says, "I met Lindsay last summer and she talked about herself a lot. She said she was going to win an Oscar before she turns 25. I just kept thinking, 'But you can't act'. I haven't met Paris and don't want to either. She and Lindsay are the type of girls you need to stay away from."

Rupert who??

Oh. Him. Y'know I never thought I would find myself defending La Lohan, but isn't this a case of pot and kettle? Did I miss something? Is Grint the new Olivier?

Well in his defense, he has never said he will win an Oscar by the time he's 25, or tried to make himself out to be the next Olivier

YES! Oh, I love him.
It's nice to hear about a young actor trying to stay away from that type of scene.

I read the article to find out who Grint is. He didn't say that to her face. He thought it to himself while she was talking.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

IMDB news isn't exactly the most reliable source.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

I personally think he's a fine actor for a kid his age and he has nowhere to go but up as where Lohan is coasting on fame alone, not talent. They're both child stars but if you compare his performance as Ron and her performance in The Parent Trap...his is far less painful.

Good for him.
"But I can tell you that Raoul, who was so handsome in "The Phantom," is now a drunken wreck."

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

About time somebody said it. The girl can't act and people need to get wise to the fact. You won't get an Oscar for playing yourself in everything.
I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

Lohan can outact Grint any day of the week. She was spot-on in Parent Trap, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Georgia Rule, and Prairie Home Companion.

Whether or not she actually made that Oscar comment is not clear, so I can't say anything about that.

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

I'll win an Oscar by the time I'm 25....it's such an L.A. comment. Seriously, I have heard porn performers and cashier clerks say the same thing. As David Cross once noted, "you just sit there and watch the delusion drift by".

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

I think Lohan is actually a pretty good actress. Not the next Meryl Streep by any means but she was quite good in THE PARENT TRAP, MEAN GIRLS, and FREAKY FRIDAY. I can't stand her off-screen persona though.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

I read the article to find out who Grint is. He didn't say that to her face. He thought it to himself while she was talking.

I never said he said it. I posted the whole article. And, it's to be assumed that, now that it's publicized, Lindsay knows.

re: Rupert Grint to Lindsay Lohan: 'You Can't Act'

I didn't read the article, because I don't know this guy and don't care, but whoever wrote it has the ability to read minds? That's pretty impressive.

By "she" I meant Lindsay.

Do things really need to be spelled out?
