I LOVED IT! I wish they would do this sketch every week! Or better yet, NBC should spin it off into a new prime time game show!
Daniel Tosh and Joel McHale?
I laughed so hard watching that last night. I wondered why it wasn't one of the earlier sketches. Alec Baldwin was the perfect contestant. I lost it when they asked who was on top, Roberto Benigni or Gerard Depardieu?

Have to admit, not being gay it made me uncomfortable. Not because of what it was, but because I kept thinking "Should I be laughing at this?"
It WAS pretty funny - one of the only skits in the whole night that really had me laughing.

LOL, that was funny.
The last gameshow skit that I really laughed at was many years ago, when Dennis Hopper hosted. They did a gameshow called What's that Smell, a takeoff from his Blue Velvet movie.

I loved Alec Baldwin's rapturous expression as he imagined the match ups. When they asked "When Timon and Pumba have gay sex...Who's On Top?" and he immediately says "Oooh, I was JUST thinking about that!"
"Imagine two men having sex.."
"Done!"
'If I were to ask who's on top? Hanity or Colmes you'd reply........Hanity.....(obviously!)'
Priceless!
I thought the sketch was hilarious without relying on either homophobia or gay panic.
Yeah, it oddly managed to jump in with both feet and just be f*cking funny--mostly because it was utterly fearless.
LaurenB, my last favorite game show was the one with Glenn Close:
What's the Best Way?
Hader: "Dr. Oz or Dr. Phil?"
Baldwin: "Oprah Winfrey"
One of the best lines in this mediocre episode!
-Paul Giamatti-
-The other guy.

The Giammati line was certainly funny, but a bit obscure. Is there a story I haven't heard?
I didn't think there was any story. Just a joke saying that he could never be a top with anyone.
Somewhere in our future, I think there's a Who's On Top: BWW Edition thread. Bialystock or Bloom? Oscar or Felix?

Thanks Besty- I just wondered if there was more to it. It's a great joke I was just surprised they went with Giamatti as the punchline; he's relatively unknown compared with the other folks.
Personally, I'd have gone with Ryan Seacrest.
I think that's what was particularly funny about the whole sketch: none of the guys seemed or are even rumored to be gay.
It wouldn't have been as funny if they'd gone with Seacrest, Hugh Jackman, etc.

Wellllll, they did include Scott Caan.
I also like the Top Gun dvd commercial right after it, continuing with the theme. Bill Hader's Alan Alda freaks me out because it doesn't seem possible that voice could be coming out of him.
Bialystock or Bloom?
I don't think it's so obvious, Jon. Bialystock will do anything for money and Bloom is a timid virgin Bialystock is trying to seduce. Bloom is definitely the top. For a while, at least.
Namo, even when you are there with him doing Alda's voice, it doesn't seem like it is coming out of him!
Bialystock and Oscar are both bottoms when played by Nathan Lane.
This skit barely made me crack a smile. Thought it sucked. To each his own. Sorry kids.

Wasn't exactly my cup of tea either, another juvenile SNL gay sex joke -- basically "two men having sex -- ewwwwwwwww!"
Where have Alec Baldwin's chins gone?
