I get hit on by all the BARTENDERS whenever I go there. In fact, I've gotten quite a few free drinks being a girl in a gay boys club. Ha, there's this one really hot bartender... I forget his name, but everytime I'd ask for a screwdriver he'd tell me to come back after his shift was over... or offer to take a break.

I was tempted, really, I was.

Does anyone remember 'Champs'? It was a gay sports bar a couple of blocks up from Splash. They had waiters there because they used to serve food. It was completely random. Maybe that's where Daisy is thinking of.

i remember champs. my ex-boyfriend was a doorman there. i also remember splash...i really didn't like the chelsea club scene...too many posers and pretentious b!tches. me and my friends would sometimes go to "g" after work and goof off on the chelsea boys.

oh yeah and another one of my exes worked at the umm bathouse that's in that area....i used to help him lock up the patrons valuables, etc. ooops...shouting out too many exes on the board. hope no one heard me...LOL

They call it "Splash" because they used to have showers on stage and the dancing boys would splash and play in the showers in-between dancing. The showers are gone now. In fact, the name of the bar is no longer Splash, although that's what everybody still calls it. They changed the name to "SBNY" (Splash Bar New York) a couple of years ago.

Splash is a typical Chelsea S&M (stand and model) bar. Very antisepetic. Very "bridge and tunnel". And very boring!
If you really want to have some fun you should check out the East Village. That's where all the down and dirty fun is at.
"Boysroom" is the newest addition to the Lower East Side. It's advertised as having... two floors of fags, pornographic videos, out of control go-go boys, and a sexy E. Village alternative crowd. I've been there and it's a lot of fun. Also, you can't go wrong with "The Cock" (also in the E. Village) on a Friday or Saturday night. It really gets wild! Great backroom!

Splash is a lot of fun on Monday nights for Musical Mondays. All other times, it's lame.

The East Village bars are terrific.

Seany...I recommend you check those out...uh...I mean...that your FIANCE check those out.

Also...Sundays at the Maritime are pretty rockin'.

Yup. The infamous backroom at The Cock is still going strong. Actually, IMO Sunday nights are the best. "Sperm" at The Cock, billed as the East Village's best and longest-running sleaze party, is a LOAD of fun!!!
