Papa, thanks for posting that. That was amazingly funny.

It makes this tragedy all the more sad.

I have tears streaming down my face after reading the story in the Times. Hadley is one of the most impressive tenors I have ever heard, and it's sad that he couldn't overcome his hard times. Peace be with him and his loved ones.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

so sad
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

Such sad news, I hope he cane be at peace
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

So sad. I hope at least they were able to use some of his organs to save some lives.
PEACE.

Rest in peace, Mr. Hadley.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

sad news...jerry hadley seriously injured

In about 1986 Jerry Hadley and soprano Faith Esham created some of the most 'beautiful noise' I have ever heard in my life.

They were teamed in a repertory production of "Manon" that was being given a routine revival and the two of them transported a whole theatre. The beauty part was that no one expected such singing, and they created a huge artistic and box office success that season. Their duets just floated out over our heads and landed perfectly inside our ears only to travel to where our music souls live.

This was before either of them moved across the plaza.

Jerry Hadley's passing is a sad as well as tragic loss.
"If my life weren't funny, it would just be true. And that would be unacceptable." --Carrie Fisher
