His last day is this Wednesday. Quick departure, too.

I'll miss seeing him on GMA.
This sounds like a great opportunity for him, but my mornings won't be the same.

I used to be a loyal Today Show viewer, but for a variety of reasons I switched to GMA about a year ago.

Al Roker was always my least favorite of the Today Show crew - always going for the quick joke or dumb-one-liner. He was fine when a day just needed a regular weather report, but, when a weather system was moving in, or weather was a top story, I turned to GMA because I liked Sam Champion's approach and way of explaining what was happening and what to expect.

He was saying on GMA this morning that this is a really big opportunity for him, so I'm glad he is able to make this move. I'll miss his presence as part of the GMA crew.

The real reasons for Sam's departure are that it shortens the commute between his home(the Weather Channel is in Atlanta) and his husband's (who lives in Miami). Also, ABC wouldn't meet his salary demands. Rumor has it that Josh isn't happy with his salary either.

People still watch The Weather Channel? Sorry, I guess I'm bitter. For those of us that grew up in NYC, Sam's been on Channel 7 for like 25 years. I grew up watching him and it's been so cool to see him rise from success to success. I do wish him the very best.

Love Jim. Met him in person during the Sandy coverage before it all hit. He was sweet. Very intense, though.

I'll miss Sam. I love the GMA Team. They are the only morning show I watch. He is very nice in person.

I do enjoy Weather Channel programming. I hope to keep up with Sam there. I second that he best keep his hands off my Jim. :)

I'll miss Sam Champion. I used to rub shoulders with him all the time back-in-the-day when I hung out at (the now defunct) Splash.

Yes...and that's all it was...rubbing shoulders!

It's going to seem odd not seeing him on ABC as he has been a fixture on the local and national broadcasts for ages!
