Posted: 1/6/11 at 10:09pmHere's the real kicker: this strict constructionist, who advocates only the narrowest interpretation of the Constitution, who says the 14th amendment should only be applied to extend rights to black men, he used this same 14th amendment as part of his justification for granting corporations unlimited, unrestricted financial contributions in the Citizens United case. It's the height of arrogance and hypocrisy.

And is also willing to ignore specific language in the 2nd Amendment that appears to limit the absolute right to bear arms as is necessary for a well-armed militia.
It is amazing how some words are important in the Constitution, and apparently have to be taken in context of the times, and other do not.

I know next to nothing about the law, but I know how to read. The amendment says:
"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
How can "ANY PERSON" be interpreted to NOT include women?

In a real America, where people gave a damn about what was going on, there'd be demands for his removal from the bench, and massive protests outside the Supreme Court until this monstrous bigot was ousted in disgrace.
But no. Not gonna happen.
