I hadn't really heard anything about this. Can't wait for April! Definitely the best modern horror movie series. Very happy that Campbell, Arquette and Cox will all be back.

I don't mind those two so much. I'm just glad Lake Bell dropped out. I have an irrational hatred for her.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was in the second and she was perfect for her role, so I'm not worried with a few young "starlets."

I'm pretty sure Sarah was the opening kill in Scream 2 (a cameo that is kept secret until the release). Emma & Hayden have been seen rehearsing for filming at a school.

Actually, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Omar Epps were the opening kills for Scream 2.

Though I'm excited that so many of the originals are back for this sequel (actually more excited for Craven/Williamson again than anything else), I wish Lauren Graham had stayed on. Disliked her immensely on Broadway (Guys & Dolls), but always seem to like her when she shows up in other mediums. Heck, Parenthood is one of my favorite new shows this season.

Is it sad that I actually remember the Scary Movie parody of the opening of Scream 2 more so than the real thing? You know, where they replaced the knife with a stiffy...

ShockTillYouDrop says that Kruger has been brought on too do some polishing NOT rewrites. Kevin is still very much involved in the writing. Lauren dropped out because Parenthood's filming schedule.

TheatreFan4, I so hope the part about Kruger's small involvement is correct. When I read the part about him doing rewrites, I got a bad feeling in my stomach. As I said earlier in this thread, I was most excited about the re-pairing of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson. Though he hasn't done any mainstream movies for a while, Kevin Williamson is responsible for some of my favorite things. Scream, Scream 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty (extra special happiness for a hot drug-dealing Josh Hartnett, plus bonus points for a young Daisy Ader), and even Dawson's Creek (for the well-written youth-coming-out storyline) were some nice gems of the 90s.

Oh, and something I've only seen written about in one place that made me do backflips: Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) is on-board for Scream 4. Not sure if she's replacing Lauren Graham or if I just didn't see her in the mix earlier, but there it is.

I kinda want another Heather Matarazzo cameo as Martha Meeks.

I think I may know the celebrity cameo murder but the article where I read it was so speculative (don't go on the wikipedia page of Scream 4, since it is spelled out). The same article says the murder evokes Psycho.

I love that Wes says 'This is it.' with the films.

Ive been following all the gossip and boards about this film for months and it looks like at least one of the main leads will die (Cox, Arquette, Campbell)

If this does well Scream 5 and 6 will happen according to them as they are creating a new trilogy
