I tried to pull up the old thread but it's having some issues.
Here's a new poster and a new interview with Wes Craven:

I'm in the minority, but I thought Scream 3 was a blast, and a fitting end to the trilogy.
Craven seems pretty enthusiastic about it, so I'm interested to see where they could POSSIBLY take these characters next. All I'm saying is... if they bring Sid back just to kill her off (it's been done many times before), I'll be very upset.
THANK YOU for posting this. I'm praying that these films revitalize the genre the same way they did almost 15 years ago. I'm very happy to hear Craven say he's commenting on the endless (and pointless) sequels that we have now. Let's hope studios take note and start to offer us some more original stories after this.

I loved Scream 3 as well & can't wait for the next one. It's good that it seems at least that Sid won't be the opening kill.
Well considering Neve Campbell has said Cox, Arquette and herself will be in all three new films, it was always a safe bet none of them would be killed in the beginning. I'm casting my vote to have it be Miley Cyrus.

yeah I never really understood all the hate for Scream 3... although I will admit I felt that having the dude from Felicity be the killer felt very random.. but I enjoyed the movie... Parker Posey as Gale Weathers was hilarious!
and I'm glad that this new trilogy is happening 10 years later. it just feels like the time is right for it. and i'm glad that wes craven, kevin williamson and the original cast is coming back.
Thank you for posting that. I didn't realize until I read the article that the whole consistent character thing is unique to Scream. It's the only horror series out there (so far at least) where we follow a specific group of people. In the Nightmare on Elm Street series you have Nancy, but the character is only really in two of the movies (though Heather Langenkamp starred in a third). With Halloween, if you count the newer revision (Halloween 1, 2, H20, Resurrection) Laurie Strode stays on as the consistent heroine. Yet for most of the 80s and 90s, Laurie was gone after the second film. But there we do have Dr. Loomis, so I guess Scream isn't sooo unprecedented. Then with the majority of horror franchises, you have practically no characters returning throughout. Friday the 13th, Leprechaun, Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw Massacre - all good examples of this.
I'm not sure why the idea never crossed my mind before, as I've loved the Scream series since I saw the first one in a movie theater when I was a young thing. Or I guess I should say "since I saw it when I was a young thing and spent the next week or so terrified that someone would break in and stab me", but that just doesn't sound as good. Our family even had a glass sliding door like the one Casey Becker has. Our couch was positioned in such a way that you would watch TV with your back to that patio door. I would spend more time glancing towards the door to make sure Ghostface didn't appear than I would watching whatever was on the TV.
Ah, good times.
I love the poster!
I love the Scream movies. I'm also incredibly excited about this!

the Saw series kinda counts, right? i know it doesn't follow the same people every movie... and despite what people think of the movies.. i've been impressed with how they've been able to tie in all the characters together in all the movies... like it doesn't feel too forced... but whatever... i love the Scream movies
