Posted: 9/13/06 at 8:22amI have to confess that I watched this film in sections.....It's too disturbing to watch in one sitting. I'm glad that we have this documentation now, but I don't think I'll watch it again anytime soon

Posted: 9/13/06 at 10:32amIt's not a professional video. It's a person taping it from her home with her emotions (and others) in the video. I think because it's "real" and not "professional," it's that much more real to us watching it.

Posted: 9/13/06 at 2:08pmI'm surprised shows like 20/20, Dateline, etc. haven't shown this video yet (or have they and I'm not aware?). They are so "hungry" for stuff like this. I hate the media.

The most powerful thing about this video is that it is not dramatized or done with voice over or sugar coated. It is just a simple representation. As someone who lived within the shadow of these buildings, lived through the aftermath and still lives it every day with the 'the bathtub' as a constant reminder, I know well that the rest of the country has moved on and that 9/11 is a more distant memory than Katrina and the homelessness and hopelessness there. But for me and thousands of other New Yorkers, it is still with us every day and for those who were forced to breathe the foul air for months afterwards, we may yet see even more profound changes in our own bodies to remind us of this horror. There is nothing to say to comfort the grieving families.
I did not get to see the recent airing of the documentary filmed by the two french men who were riding with the men from one of the fire halls that day (coincidentally) but I understand it was quite stark and disturbing as well. I am not a fan of wallowing in misery, but I think we would do well to remember these events in hopes that we can find a way to keep them from happening again. And I do not mean through bombing the h**L out of the rest of the world to get rid of anyone who misunderstands us.
