Now I do, Jane. Before I'd always have my job in my mind, would come home and talk about work, never let it go. Since that 'episode', I keep busy with other things, and doing stuff outside keeps me sane... be it skiing, biking or doing theater. I know I'm not the most popular person at work, but I really don't socialize with co-workers. They're nice and all, and it does happen on occassion... but I have plenty of other friends.
The key component to overcoming stress is to not feel trapped--to realize, even if it isn't appealing, you do have a choice in changing or ending the situation. A student in college completely stressed out can take the semester off, etc. We feel the most stressed when we think there's no way out, and nothing you can do.
As for psych disorders, there's something occurring today in society that is just sad. The perceived stigma of being labeled mentally ill has prevented a lot of people from seeking the help they need.
