Well, I'm going up to Boston this weekend to visit my grandparents, and they have them there. I guess I can wait.......grrrrrr.

If you call the stores in Manhattan (not that I would because I am bored at work or anything) and ask, they laugh and say no, as if hundreds have called and asked the same thing.

Which makes me question McDonald's judgement here. Of all places not to release a special offer, New York City. I'm writing my congressman.

This thread compelled me to go out in the rain today on my lunch hour, but alas the McDonalds on 71st and Broadway didn't have them.

I've been searching because now I want one too. Sadly I don't think any McDonald's in the NY metro area carries them. The official stance is that they are ONLY sold in Ireland and at one Irish themed casino is Vegas where they sell them year round. But apparenlty random McDonald's across the country still carry them this time of year...sadly none of them seem to be near me.

All the ones in the Toms River/Point Pleasant, NJ area seem to have them.

I seem to recall a movie or TV show recently in which two characters have an argument over whether Shamrock Shakes are actually mint flavored, or just vanilla shakes with green food coloring.

Some of the comments below made my jaw drop.

You're really not missing much. Shamrock Shakes are one of the grosser McDonald's creations

Noo! They're sooo good!

I can't believe none of the Manhattan stores have them.

I'm pretty sure all of the McDonalds around Buffalo have them.

To think that this economy has led the company that invented the phrase "super size" is now downsizing and not offering one of their perennial standards in NYC. Sad times indeed

I've never had one. I don't go to McDonalds more than twice a year, so it makes sense that I wouldn't. Plus, I thought they were just vanilla with green food coloring. re: Shamrock Shakes If they're actually minty...

I've always been sad that you can't really find mint ice cream without the chocolate chip. I love mint, I hate chocolate chips.
