Anyone remember the show "Charles in Charge?" In that, they had the first season, it was gone for a couple of years, and then came back with an entirely different family. At least that was explained that the original family moved. I think there was a transitional episode actually. I just never saw it.

Now, what I think makes no sense is the last season of "Saved By the Bell." I swear there was an episode where the original 6 graduated. However, apparently the episodes with the character Tori were mixed in with the last season with the original characters. There was a graduation episode with her. So, what happened to Kelly and Jessie? LOL!

On That 70s Show the actress for Laurie changed a near the end to a far less bitchy version and in my opinion, much less funny. Then again, that could be because the show itself was getting less funny

On The Odd Couple, two different actresses played Felix's daughter.

Ooo... Daphne changed a lot. She even seemed to loose her psychic abilities toward the end of the series. They seemed to slowly fade her "quarks" once she started dating Niles.

There were three different "Alices" on The Honeymooners.

Pert Kelton (on the Jackie Gleason Show)
Audrey Meadows (on the classic 39 episodes)
Sheila MacRae (on the Gleason variety specials that followed)

There were two different Catwomans on "Batman" (three, if you count the movie)

Julie Newmar
Eartha Kitt
Lee Merriwether (movie)

Lord knows how many Jans, Marcias and Cindys we went through on Brady Bunch spin-offs.

Quite a few Gingers on the Gilligan's Island TV movies, too.

Two different Marilyns on The Munsters (three, if you count the movie)

Beverly Owen (first 15 episodes only)
Pat Priest
Debbie Watson (movie)

"And let's not forget Becky on Roseanne!"

I know! I was watching some episodes the other day, when the original Becky came back. Everyone in the family proceeded to ask her 'Just where the hell have you been?'

I love it.

Oh and anyone notice on the altel commericals how the newer ones has a totally different sprint guy?

I love acting, its so much more real then life.

b12b, there was a fourth Alice in there, too: Sue Ane Langdon (post-Meadows, pre-MacRae...apparently she only appeared in a couple of skits in the early sixties).

Also, four Trixies:

Elaine Stritch (only 1 skit?)
Joyce Randolph
Patricia Wilson
Jane Kean

I'm surprised that no one has really mentioned "M*A*S*H*". I think that it's the show that had the biggest change in the characters, basically because Alan Alda took over as producer. The characters became more complex and human and those who didn't have the room to grow got eliminated. (In a special about "M*A*S*H*", Larry Linville comments that his character Frank Burns was too one-dimensional and got written out of the show.)
