Liza, I agree with you about Chris' choreography. When they brought him in all the dances in...whatever styles they put him on have been FAR better.

I used to love NappyTabs, but haven't really been won over by any of their numbers in a while.

I often like Sonya Tahey (sp?)'s work, and I overall liked her number for the two girls that had all those Martha Graham moves and lines, but the group number at the end didn't really work for me--however I suspect it was one of those numbers that would work a LOT better live. The way it was filmed, you totally missed the patterns at the end (the beginning was effective, though.) I know the camera people have a tough job and very little prep, relatively speaking, but sometimes I don't need to see the dance from a swirling camera angle or whatever--when in doubt, just film it head on.

Very well said--I agree absolutely. (Though to be honest, my eyes usually glaze over when in the package clip the chioreographer says "this dance's story is..." Mia makes the stories work, usually because she picks more of a simple theme than story, but more often than not, I can never follow the "story".)

I loved the opening number this week too!

My favorite so far is the tap dancer guy (I forget his name, LOL), who almost didn't make the top 20 cut. I was sorry to see Carlos get cut so soon.

I also liked Christina Applegate's commentary.

Regarding the group numbers, I didn't care for the women's number from last week. It looked too much like a cheerleading routine. This week's opening number was good, it reminded me a bit of a Wade Robson routine from the Benji season.

I don't like the new format either. It seems anti-climatic.

I'm always a few days behind in watching the show but I have to agree. Choose the bottom 3, dance for your life, be eliminated and then have to dance. Ouch.

Thought the show was so-so this week but heard two more songs wasn't familiar with and have now downloaded.

Seriously, it's mind boggling that people with this much experience in this format of reality shows would think it would be a good way to do it that way (especially since, from a purely cynical reality tv standard, it makes no sense to not save the "reveal" till the end.)

Due to (re) injury of his miniscus (sp?) Jade had to drop out of the show. Very sad, I thought he had such great potential, too. No other male was sent home. They had an "all star" step in to dance with his partner -- who's name I can't remember, the little blonde pixie. They were LOVELY.

Yes, Marco. Don't remember which season but I do recall enjoying him in the original competition. Also, Spencer Liff was actually back last week and did a Broadway number for BluPrint and Brittany. But He did two numbers this week.

Anyway, I thought it was a good show. Not completely blown away by anyone but that might be due to the fact that they're all SO good - it's a pretty even competition and when that happens, it's difficult to pinpoint the true standouts.

I am officially obsessed with Amy (Fik-Shun's partner). She is the girl to beat. Such charisma and personality and presence. I definitely agree with the decision to send off Jasmine. She just wasn't doing it for me.

We may differ in opinions. She is MUCH more than a tapper.. That's exactly the reason they're keeping her on, I think. It is rare that you have such an incredible tapper with other amazing skill sets.
