I adore this show.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was on the computer and I heard a noise- I thought it was a cat or animal being tortured outside. It stopped, then came back a few times. I was looking out the window and realized the noise was coming from my next door neighbor's. Apparently he was watching this show and had cranked up the volume. The noise that sounded like a torture animal was a judge who shrieked and hollered- truly horrifying. She should not be allowed on TV.

Ha poor Mary Murphy.

Thought the choreography and dancing was strong for a first show this year. Loved that they have three tappers (I started off with tap--and it always annoys me that they rarely do tap just because if you have zero experience in it I guess it's too hard to expect you to learn even the basics in a week compared to other styles.) Oh and I was relieved to see no Tyce Doreo (sp?) so far....

Tyce and Spencer will be back, Eric. Just you wait. Not that I enjoy their choreography. But Nigel is pretty loyal to his people - whenever the jazz/music theatre night pops up, they'll be there.

I cannot wait to see how all of these dancers, the guys in particular, handle the varying styles. It has been several years since they have had so many different and unique dancers. Should be real interesting.

Ballroom Jasmine is kind of unreal...what a truly natural talent...and I actually really like the hip hop girl (blanking on the name). What was everyone's favorite routine? Mine was Mia Michaels', of course. But that woman can do no wrong in my mind.

I watched "So You Think You Can Dance" followed by this weeks episode of "Dance Moms" - Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

My god what a despicable group of women. These kids are being emotionally abused. I don't understand how a parent could do this to their child. It's totally disgusting.

I feel dirty after watching it...but, I continue to do so. So what does that say about me? Ugh!

Liza's Headband, you're prob right. I think Tyce is a great dancer, but pretty annoying (of course Every Little Step helped me form that opinion.) His Broadway choreography is so mediocre, though (almost always an inferior rip off of a famous routine)--although he's done a few jazz things I like. I guess I like Spencer's Broadway work better. It was strange they dropped--or didn't show--Broadway in Vegas.

I'm glad Mia seems to be over her fight with Nigel (I guess she was over it last year)--for a while when she boycotted him I enjoyed that she did the Canadian version, but that no longer airs... I liked that and probably the guys' dance with sand the best--and the tap. The girls' group dance started off as a cool update of Rich Man's Frug but kinda went nowhere in the second half.

I'm going to agree about Tyce. Don't like him. Too smug. Too self aware. I usually HATE his b'way numbers, but have enjoyed a number of his jazz and lyrical routines.

This is my go to show for the summer -- I just love it.

Glad I'm not alone! On a TV forum people seemed to love "Tasty Oreo" (as my sister thinks his name is due to how Nigel says his name.)

It's my go-to Summer show too, and really the only reality show I seem to get invested in, even with the elements (like some of Nigel's obsession with men being masculine--though he's gotten a lot better with that--) drive me crazy.

In the three years of the Canadian show, they used this format they are doing here now with combining the elimination with the pertformance episode and it makes much more sense--those elimination episodes were basically a waste of time.

The other thing I love about the show is every season I find singers/music I have never heard before. I love that they show the name of the song and person or group who sings it.

Already downloaded one from the show last night. Dancer wise it looks like it is going to be a strong season.

I adore Malece so much! I really want her to win. She had me the moment she auditioned to "Meant" by Elizaveta.

Also I really wish Spencer would choreograph the Broadway numbers more.

I'm sure he does, too! Does anyone have any idea how much the choreographers make? Is it per number? I'm sure Mia and some of the regulars make a heck of a lot more than Spencer and likely more of a package deal: ie. 50K for 10 numbers during the season.

Just curious, really.

Unlike some salaries of judges that are leaked, I would think obtaining the pay for the choreographers is more difficult. Wish I had a connection at Fox Television!!! I always thought about that too, Drama.

I adore Malece so much! I really want her to win.

I swear I saw her sitting in the front row of the audience for Judge Judy earlier this week.

Loved Sand, Let's Have a Kiki and the ballroom and animation numbers.

I wouldn't mind if Tyce came back for some contemporary choreography, but that's it. His "Broadway" is horrible and as a judge, he's insufferable. I'm glad they kept him away from the auditions.

For me, Christopher Scott comes the closest to Mia Michaels' masterpieces but there is still a deeply emotional connection missing from all of his pieces. Perhaps as he matures and lives his life, he'll be able to bring more of those personal experience into his choreography. No shame. I'm a Mia fanboy.
