Despite some unevenness, this was the best night of competition. Several of these routines far superceded anything we have seen this season! (Lacey and Pasha’s hip hop, Lauren and Danny’s contemporary, and Sabra and Neil’s jazz)

Lacey & Pasha (hip hop): A terrific, character-based dance, and they both were fantastic. This may be one of my favorite routines of the season. (smooth waltz): I had hoped that they would pull one of the Latin dances (who wouldn’t want to see that?!?), but I thought that was beautiful. The lift over his back at the end was exquisite. Well done on the part of both dancers. Good catch on Nigel’s part about Lacey’s hand. (Solos): Pasha, of course, has the difficulty of being a ballroom dancer going it alone, but he certainly scores points for creativity. His use of the mannequin actually made me appreciate the cape from last week. It seems that he is doing his best to give normally uninteresting solos story and life and character. Lacey, with the same problem, while sexy, was a typical “ballroom dancer’s” solo.

Lauren & Danny (contemporary): Danny’s best performance of the season. Hands down. Passion and emotion and flawless technique. Where has that dancer been all season?!? He may have just saved himself. Lauren was every bit his equal. (“Disco’s no joke.”): For their sake, I wish they had danced this one first. It was good, but, compared to the contemporary routine, it was a bit of a let down. The death drop into the lift seemed a little shaky. (Solos): A much better solo effort from Lauren than we have seen before. My criticism for her is that her emotion and expression don’t match what is happening musically. Danny: I am glad they had the closeup on his face as he lay on the stage because I wasn’t sure what he was feeling or portraying. Then I saw the playfulness in his expression, and I smiled. It was very nice to see.

Sabra & Neil (jazz): Another character and story driven dance ... and another terrific performance. (Paso Doble): Um ... I needed to watch this twice because the sight of Neil in tight leather pants did something funny to me ... hee hee ... this was not my favorite number of the night, but I think it was the choreography. The Paso Doble is my favorite Latin dance, and I have seen better. I was worried at the beginning that Neil was overperforming, but they both danced it well. I am disappointed by the drop at the end. I wanted to see the smooth fall to the floor, but she got caught on his shoulder. (Solos): Sabra is such an exquisite, passionate, sensual dancer. As Nigel said, Sabra dances from her heart. That is why I have loved her from the beginning. Neil’s solo, while trick-filled, was a little boring for me.

Based on tonight’s performances alone, I don’t think I can choose who should go. I thought they were all well matched. However, since two people do have to go, I think I would send Lauren and Neil home. However, I will not be surprised at anything on Monday. (Why Monday?!?) In case you are wondering, my votes all went to Sabra. I still love that girl.

^I completely agree. The judges seemed to like it but I didn't see anything really special about it in comparison to the rest of the performances. Some of the lists were good, but that was about it.

WOOOW! What an amazing night! My favorite performances were definately Sabra/Neil 80s jazz and Lauren/Danny contemporary. {side note: I felt like Mia was back on her A game this week - I know Mia as a choreographer and she loooves to make dances as unpredictable and surprising as possible (meaning they are so freaking hard...weight changes are awkward...ect.) Lauren and Danny rocked.} I LOVED 80s JAZZ EVEN MORE!! That routine was soo HOT! I want them both to stay based on that dance alone.

I love Lacey and Pasha and I missed the opening hip-hop routine everyone is raving about . So this decision isn't exactly fair I guess, but I think (key word *think*) that Pasha and Lauren may be going home this week.

LEAVING: Sabra, Lacey, Neil and Danny as season three's top 4.

As long as Sabra is safe, I dont care who goes home on Monday. They are all VERY talented dancers. Last night was a terrific competition, highlights for me being Sabra's solo, Mia's number and the 80s jazz...WTF is with Sabra? She stuns me every week.
Exquisite...dancing from the heart, indeed.

The judges were a bit too kind with the Disco and Paso Doble routines. The disco routine never stopped looking awkward, uncomfortable and forced. Danny's opening in the disco routine was so silly and painfully awful to watch. I just wanteit to end. The Paso Doble was ok, but not great. Sabra was stunning, as usual, but Neil just didn't sell it. Especially that silly move at the end, which was out of place and completely unnecessary. I think all the judges must have been drinking out of Debbie's glass last night. They were WAY too easy on the dancers.

Mia's routine was good, but it was not one of her best. Lots of running and quick moves, but I really didn't see much emotion or story other than "I'm dancing as fast as I can". It was well-executed, but other than that, it didn't do much for me at all. And yes Danny, we all know you can pirouette like a champ. But I am as sick of Danny's pirouettes as I was of Melanie's extension in season 1. It doesn't need to be in EVERYTHING. Especially when it completely stops the flow of the dance just to show it off yet again.

Mister Matt, I know what you mean, but at this point I think they're ALL just trying to show off their best moves as often as possible.

If you guys could choose, would you have Lauren or Lacey in the final 4? (I really can't picture either of them beating Sabra soo..)

Because I don't think he's that good. He's superb at one style, and that's it. Not versatile, at all, imo.

I just figured out that there is a pre-season football game. Cots vs. Dallas.

In my choreography class in college, our professor, about 3/4 of the way through the quarter, spent a portion of a class period pointing out each student's "signature move" by asking other members of the class to demonstrate. It was amusing. From that point on, we were not allowed to use our particular move again!

At the beginning of this competition I would have chose Lacey, but lately I'm going with Lauren. I really won't be upset either way though as long as Sabra is still there.

As far as the guys go, Danny needs to go, but as long as Neil is still there after Monday night, it's all good.

Does anyone know how long the finale will be? I'm assuming an hour and a half, or maybe 2 hours, but I can't remember for the life of me how long last year's was.

I wholeheartedly agree with FosseForever for the top 4. Although, as much as I admire Danny, Pasha is so much fun to watch sometimes, and the hip hop last night made me giggle with dorktastic-ness. I could go either way with those two. Pasha's performance could get him there, and Danny's technique could get him there.

Personally, I'm basing it a lot off of who I want to see in a Top 4 number, and which two girls and which two guys I'd rather see dancing together. Danny and Neil would rock that stage. I don't think that Pasha could stand his ground in a duet with Neil, personally...

As long as Neil and Sabra are safe, I'm happy.

I would like to see Sabra, Lacey and Pasha in the final four. The fourth spot can go to either Danny or Neil. I think Pasha has earned a spot in the final through consistent work this season.

Coma, I think Pasha could more than hold his own against Neil, especially depending on what style they have to dance. Personally, as entertaining as Travis and Benji's duet was last year, I would love to see some actual partner work for the guy pair and girl pair, whatever form that might take. I don't necessarily mean that Pasha and Neil need to dance a paso doble or a rumba, thought that would be hot, but two men using their strength to do some actual partner work could be very exciting.

I miss Pasha a ridiculous amount already , I thougt he boughtthe competetion much more charisma,better partnering and just a much better and more of a fun attitude than Danny did ... and I can't believe Sabra was in the bottom 2 !! UGH! Oh and Neil's expression when he got in was SO adorable , he is so exceptionally beautiful! LOVED his solo tonight :)
