Hi everyone!
I'm graduating next year and I'm already looking for a song to sing for the graduation ceremony....Any good ideas?
a solo is fine or any kind of duet (preferably with another girl)

Could always be cheesy and do For Good from Wicked.
Would 'Hills Of Tomorrow' be too obvious and cheesy? ^_^

We've done "I Will Remember You" and "Seasons of Love" among other songs.
"For Good" seems like a nice one. Or that Graduation song that Vitamin C did. I know we kept pushing for that in 6th grade.
A girl in my choir and I sang For Good this year. I guess it's cheesy, but isn't the entire ceremony cheesy? Anyway, it worked for us because maybe 8 people in the entire theatre even knew what Wicked was, so there wasn't an expectation of what we should sound like. If you aren't set on musical theatre, another couple sang "I Hope You Dance," but that's also cheesy.
Just do what you want. After all, it is YOUR graduation! Good luck!
I'm not sure if this works for a graduation ceremony exactly, but my school has a cabaret just for seniors in the theatre and music companies at our school, and my best friend and I will sing For Good (very cheesy I KNOW...but it works, and its good for both our voices)
But I'm not sure how well it works for a ceremony exactly...
these pages of our lives
not sure who it is by.

RENT would have some great music to sing. Also, Louder Than Words from tick, tick, BOOM! would be good.
are you looking for a Broadway songs in particular?
if not...
Joey McIntyre- Stay the Same
Backstreet Boys- Never Gone
A girl in my class sang "Take Me to the World" from Evening Primrose. I think it's an excellent choice, and far better than something like "For Good."
