Jbarafan, re: moon pies and RC. Did you know there's an RC/moon pie festival somewhere in Tennessee? I'll see if I can find the link.
Wow, I didn't know that, bwaysinger ... interesting!
n69n, re. salted peanuts in Nehi ... I do that sometimes, only in Coke (preferably the small glass bottles) instead of Nehi.
Jbara, learn something new every day.
It's in Bell Buckle, TN.
I listen to a podcast by a guy in South Carolina and he went.

Thanks, bway! :)
My son recently went with a friend from his college to the National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg, TN. (The friend is from there.) Brian has a tee shirt he got at the festival.
I'm tempted to order me one of the RC/Moon Pie festival shirts from that web site. :) Thanks again for the link!
hehe. Is that the one that says "RC and a Moon Pie. It's a Southern Thing" ?
I have a friend who was a Nascar driver a few years back. He always joked that his dream sponsers were RC Cola and Moon Pie.
I'm not a bit RC fan.
And I hate moon pies.
Ew.

bway, no, the festival shirt doesn't say that, lol ... it should! Is it "cheating" that I'm getting the shirt but didn't attend the festival? ha ha
Uploading image to fan photos so I can show it here. I don't think it's big enough to cause major side scroll...
i cannot wait until this year's festival!
North Carolina, come on and raise up!
South Cacalaky represent.
What does one give for the 13th anniversary? Black cats?
Never thought I'd say it, but I miss Kentucky...
People not from the south are missing out on Grits, Sweet Tea, and many other Southern foods. There is NOTHING like a good home cooked Southern meal. YUM!!
I'm from the deep south as they call it. Born in Sasser, GA, raised in Albany, GA. And to quote Brett Butler "Like all transplanted Southerners I want credit for getting the hell out." Or something like that. Let's put it this way. They have "River Days" and a nearby town has a "Gnat Festival"
Ya'll know what gnats are doncha? lol
I don't really miss the South at all--though the appearance of civility is nice at times.
polly, one of my home county's cities is famous for the Great Mosquito Festival.

lildogs, I'm going to make that last post into a tshirt.
calvin, i thought you were from south jersey?
That's what my drivers license says -- but even so, that's below the Mason Dixon line, too.
don't i know it. i finally stopped dating south jerseyans, and man was that a good decision!
I don't miss the south at all either. My "mama n them" still live there. You couldn't pay me to live there again. I've even discarded my southern accent. It was hard work and it took me a couple years but I can turn it on & off at will now.
A Trenton boy broke my heart. To indicate how infatuated I was, I was even willing to drive into Trenton for him.
wow. not even west trenton or chambersburg, but trenton proper? now that's guts!
hugs to kelrel and i love "mama n them" polly!

I've got to say a few of my favorite Southernisms...cause no one in NYC understands them.
1. I think Lohan looks like she was rode hard and put up wet.
2. The weather here in NYC is startin' to get hotter than two goats in a pepper patch.
3. My new standup lamp is cuter than a speckled pup in a red wagon.
4. Well, butter my buscuit, your mouth didn't overload your butt, you ARE light in your loafers! Aren't we two peas in a pod!
